Rebecca had lost focus, which was quite out of the ordinary for her. She did hear Ale's announcement of Lina's new title, one of a growing number it seemed. She nodded to her ally as she wandered away to another discussion, then decided that she was out of sync with the night and needed to recharge. Offering everyone a respectful bow she left for the evening.
Rebecca exits the scene.
Atticus stands out in the Nox. Not because he is handsome or tall. Not because he is wearing some fine suit or surrounded by beautiful women. He stands out because he looks like he just stepped off a construction site or a crab boat. Which is semi-accurate, it wasn't a crab boat. The clothes are well worn, his jacket is second hand, his hair is a bit of a mess and his beard could use a trim. Atticus didn’t want to risk being accused of something by finding a place to clean up. He’d rather just let the powers that be know he is here. Even if he could get cleaned up, it’s not like he could buy a suit or something.
The Gangrel follows the markings that he was educated to look for down to the private area. Before stepping through the door he takes 30 seconds to breathe mindfully, knowing full well that this experience was going to be hard, both emotionally and because of the snake that twists within his belly whenever kindred were around. He hated it, but he would keep control, if he didn’t, he might as well just leave town right now.
Atticus steps through, not checking his coat, but leaving his bag. He had no weapons on him, so he didn’t have to worry about that. It was chaos immediately within him. Monsters everywhere. His beast tried it’s best to stand up to everyone around him, acting like the little dog on the wrong side of the dog park. He knew he was the little dog, even if the monster within him pretended to be something else.
Atticus looked around, unbuttoning his old army jacket he got from surplus. He looks around hoping that this Moretti ( Lina Moretti ) will spot him and point him in the right direction to get acknowledged. Too many people, too many possibilities for mistakes.
Mable was starting to walk towards the door when she saw and sensed a new coming. Atticus James "Hello, can I help you find someone?" Mable asked. Her smile was slightly dulled from her normal radiate welcoming smile.
The Savage stops, turning around as Mable speaks.
And speaks.
And speaks again about some goddamn fire that wasn’t even affecting the Domain.
A few seconds were taken to calm herself, the anger quickly building in her dead stomach.
“No.” she said in an even cold voice. “The Domain is not in danger at this time, and I have actual pressing matters, like Hunters, that are an actual threat.” Her eyes level on Mable.
“So again," a pause, "no.” and slowly turns and walks towards her office.
Fuck the cattle and their fires. If they couldn’t handle it on their own, then that was on them. Her concern was protecting the Kindred of the Domain, period. But it seemed she would have to remind her cousin of what was a threat and what wasn't.
Ale exits to her office
Court draws slowly to a close as the numbers dwindle. The night - and the Beast - beckons.
