Aaron's voice is usually quite flat and emotionless, almost rusty, but he tries to make up for this with his facial expressions.

With a neutral face, Aaron refrains from replying to Cynthia's comment. The test is there as it is. Yes, the question is a bit strange, but also not as straightforward as might seem.

Ironically, at the end of the Course of Light, he finally notices himself agreeing with her more and more. The end results are totally different from his though... All those years ago.

He grabs the middle pile, which the Priscus of Haunts had given five cards. Hope. Her defining quality. Prudence a close second. Though, in his opinion, it sometimes seemed more like common sense.

'Very well. The cards have chosen Hope. An optimist in our ranks. Good.' He spreads the cards in in his hands, showing the five. No further explanation is necessary. 'Now the Course of Darkness.'

And a wide grin appears. These are the good questions. He would watch with great joy. So quickly he grabs all cards, carefully, and shuffles them onto one pile. Then he makes room for the Grand Wyrm.

Hope. She knew it, deeply. Could it be that perhaps she had found another competitor here? Was Cynthia a sanguine dreamer, hoping for the greatest good? Or perhaps were her dreams more dangerous?

They would find out in the Course of Darkness. She slid into the hot seat and glanced at the cards.

"Wrath. Envy. Sloth. Pride. Gluttony. Greed. Lust."

Idly, she shuffled, considering the Nosferatu Priscus before her.

"Seven sins, seven potential dangers on the path. Seven things that can feel so good, and lead us so astray. And thus, like before, you have seven choices over this Course of Darkness. Only through awareness can we know ourselves and avoid key pitfalls. Understand that there are only ever two choices, and all of them are evils. When you have only two choices, and no other options - which darkness will you choose?"

With that, she launched into the questions.

"Your neighbor, preparing for a trip, leaves her car momentarily unattended. You can steal a bottle of fine brandy, or a small box of jewelry. If you take the jewelry, place the card on Greed. If you take the brandy, put the card on Gluttony."

"You meet a beautiful and desirable woman who treats you with haughty disdain. If you trick or intimidate her into bed, put this card on Lust. If you earn her admiration so that you can reject her, put this card on Envy."

"Your honor is being besmirched with ridiculous calumnies. If you spare no effort to find the source of the rumours, put the card on Pride. If you consider it unimportant, place the card on Sloth."

"An irksome associate has invited you to a lavish feast. If you gorge yourself at her expense while ignoring her company, place this card on Gluttony. If you ply your host with drink, hoping she will humiliate herself, place the card on Envy."

"A colleague offers to recommend an expert assassin-for-hire to slay a slippery foe of yours. If you pay the killer's high fee, place the card on Wrath. If you search for a less expensive alternative, place the card on Greed."

"Would you crawl and beg like a spaniel to please a new lover? If you would, put the card on Wrath. If you forget about him, put the card on Sloth."

"You are planning a burglary that will ruin a rival, when you learn that he's earmarked the money for a new business venture. In a few weeks, his vaults will contain even more cash, and his other assets will appreciate as well. If you wait to rob him until after his investment pays out, earning you more and hurting him less, place this card on Greed. If you ruin him immediately, earning yourself less but hurting him more, place the card on Envy."

I'll do these many at a time to speed this up, as we're low on time in the thread.

Cynthia seemed a bit surprised by the result. Out of all the things people have called her over the years, Optimist was not one of them. Then Lina took over the table and this part of the test was laid out to her. "So me at my worst then?" Other than that comment, her face was impassive.

Jumping right in aren't we? She thought. With the first card drawn in hand, Greed was the first vice to claim it. There was little hesitation in her choice.

The question itself gave Cynthia another hint of when this test was devised. She placed the card in the empty Envy slot.

The first pause for this round of questions came, until eventually the card was slowly lowered into Pride. It was followed by Gluttony, Greed, Sloth. The last question again made her hesitate before Greed again won out and the deck gained its third card.

Lina continued, question after question, decision after decision, her expression serene but flat, her tone unjudging and direct.

"Your sworn enemy has hidden herself in a town under quarantine. If you adopt the humiliating disguise of a leper for a chance to kill your foe, put this card on Wrath. If you insist that your enemy know he was slain by you, put your card on Pride."

"You have come to possess a rare and renowned drug. If you keep it for yourself, place this card on Gluttony. If you give it to a paramour to make her yield to your advances, place this card on Lust."

"You have conquered an enemy town and pillaged the treasury. If you quietly slip the treasure back to your own vaults, place the card on Greed. If you spend the treasure on a triumphal celebration of your own glory, place the card on Pride."

"You stand to learn embarrasing gossip about your rival, if you can endure the endless prattle of a courtier. If you endure the chatter, place this card on Envy. If you don't bother, put the card on Sloth."

"The opulent clothes you've ordered to impress the Emperor arrive, but they're too small. You're expected to meet the Emperor at a lavish soiree in three days. If you starve yourself for three days to fit into the clothes, put this card on Pride. If you simply wear something you already owned, put this card on Gluttony."

"A courtesan of notorious skill and beauty insists on an outrageous price for her services. If you gladly pay, put this card on Lust. If you haggle shamelessly, put this card on Greed."

"You are at a wedding feast when you get word that a bankrupt debtor of yours is trying to flee town. If you let him go to savor the celebration, put this card on Gluttony. If you leave to thrash and imprison him, put this card on Wrath."

So far, Greed was in the lead. What would she favor going forward?

    Wrath | Lust | Greed 3 | Gluttony 1 | Sloth 1 | Envy 1 | Pride 1

    And so it continued.

Cynthia smirked a bit at the question before placing the card into Wrath. The sting of humiliation was lessened to clan Nosferatu.

She tilted her head slightly, slightly confused before settling the card on Gluttony.

Another flurry of answers was produced. Greed, Envy, Sloth, Lust. Some of these were not positions she ever saw herself in. A disconnect she was starting to feel.

Wrath gained the final card of this collection. "I did mention the other guy with debts..." She muttered quietly.

Lina gave a small smile to Cynthia's remark, but did not comment on it. Feedback could tinge answers, and she wished to know only what the Priscus of Haunts would choose. The battery of questions continued.

"You behold a high priest in a disgraceful state of drunkenness. If you believe you're better than him, put this card on Pride. If you believe you're worse than him... Envy."

"You have an opportunity to moonlight for extra money without your master's knowledge, but to do so you must sneak out each night. If you enrich yourself dishonestly, put it on Greed. If you don't bother, put the card on Sloth."

"You have slain an enemy and plan to hang his severed head from your castle wall. His lovely widow comes to you and begs that her husband's corpse be released unmolested for a dignified burial. Desperate, she offers to give herself to you for one night in exchange. If you agree to her proposal, put the card on Lust. If you turn her down, put it on Wrath."

"You are invited to a bounteous feast, but it is to be held many miles away, and the road is arduous. If you undertake the journey, place the card on Gluttony. If you decline, put the card on Sloth."

"You are defending a captured palace, and the gates have fallen. You must flee. If you burn the palace as you flee, place the card on Envy. If you leave it intact so that you can retake it in the future, place the card on Wrath."

"A tedious, gossipy old nurse is the only servant allowed access to a beautiful young maiden whom you have been eyeing. If you feign friendship with the nurse to get access to the girl, put the card on Lust. If you can't be bothered to tolerate the tiresome hag, put the card on Sloth."

Moretti smiled and nodded, a quiet sign that that was her last question before she tallied.

    Wrath 2 | Lust 1 | Greed 4 | Gluttony 2 | Sloth 2 | Envy 2 | Pride 1

Cynthia looked at Lina plainly before putting the card on top of the only other card in Pride.

Greed gained another card with that question. Wrath, Gluttony and Envy were the next ones to find themselves a home. The question about the widow made her eye twitch uncomfortably.

"You can always take it back." She mumbled as the second to last card was placed in Wrath. The last question was easy to answer. Sloth gained the final card. Its kinda obvious where someone had their mind when making this set of questions... Not that I mind. A smirk formed before she relaxed back into the chair.

Aaron watches as the two walk through the Course of Darkness. It seems answers came quicker. He had spent a lot of time finding relatable situations for Kindred. Which, he realizes, does not make that much sense since the test is devised for Kindred. He just knows that as a human he had found it easier to walk away from a feast than he would as a Kindred walking a away from a willing vessel.

The questions continues and he realizes Cynthia is a lot greedier. Especially interesting with situations where it opposes Envy or Gluttony.

Some answers surprise him a little bit, but he tries not to show it. They probably wouldn't notice anyway.

I think here I learned more about myself than with the previous questions.

For now he stays silent, waiting for Lina to say the final words. In his mind, he's matching the courses of Light and Darkness to find Cynthia's Fate Card.

Lina methodically counted the piles as the Course of Darkness reached its end. Wrath was close to the top, rapidly rising like a stain - but Greed shone through in the end, early decisions made that carried the day.

    "Greed has been chosen."

A frank nod. She thought about it. Hope and Greed. Out came a card, placed gently atop the desk.

"The King of Coins is your card, Slave Weiss. You are one who sees a brighter future, and you're driven to build for it. I am curious to see where you go with it, for there is always a choice to be made and each night, you will have to make it. Do you spend what you have to push for even brighter heights, or will you find a resting point and accept what you have, going no further?"

    She smiled.

"Things to think about, King of Coins. It is a worthy Card." Looking from each to each and offering Aaron his deck, the Grand Wyrm said, "We have done what we set out to do this night. Shall we adjourn and consider what we have learned?"

    Time is running short, friends!
