The refugees in the abandoned Bell building have split into two groups;
with the ones on the roof facing a plummeting raptor, tinged with Abyssal taint.Orphan17, Spade 13, Raptor 12, Shadow 12, Errant 12
I'll wait until tonight to see if anyone else is on the roof before continuing.

Initiative rolled by ST for Shadow...
The dark bird continues to dive, flaring it's wings at the last second before it hits the rooftop.
Feathers become hair, skin, and clothing; wings become arms and wicked hands that end in talons as the bird shifts.
Black, black eyes stare at the mages, and the face seems almost watery or ephemereal. In truth, hundreds of thousands of microscopic spiders cover it, skittering across the face randomly. Black bubbles appear on the skin as well. Some in clusters, some singly. Shiny, and dark, from the size of pinheads to silver dollars. They don't pop though, and in some areas, features distort around the smooth obsidian chitin. Abyssal taint almost drips off of the large man, inspiring revulsion and fear.
Donnie Briggs has seen better days.
Orphan is UP; Tug has Armor 6, DEF 3.

Seeing his friend and fellow Arrow in this condition, Orphan doesn't allow himself to think anything other than "Tug wouldn't want to live like this, if he's even alive." To think any more on the matter might cause him to hesitate, and that wasn't an option right now... More lives than Tugs depended on him.
Orphan takes a couple steps back and fires his shotgun.
Blam!
If Tug is attacked by something for which Defense is applicable, Orphan will spend 1 WP to add 2 to his Defense for the turn.

Spade yanked off his Star, a suvenir from the Captital Building gift shop. Focusing on the Raptor as it desended Spade already had the Imago ready and worded the Matrices aligning like cog wheels. Tug? Spade unleashed the spell, watching it dissipate at his own shock. Instantly his shoulder smoldered and burned with abyssal fire.
No. NO! A waste!

Tug focuses on Orphan and the shotgun; darting forward, he wrapped his thick arms around the smaller man. This close, Orphan can almost make out the spiders, and watches as they begin to run like liquid down Tug's arms. The Abyssal miasma is so strong it's almost disorienting to the Acanthus.
Shadow is UP. Orphan is GRAPPLED. Penalty for Overpowering moves is -8.
Grappled
With a snarl, Shadow leaps towards the twisted form of Tug and tries to get a solid grasp on his neck. The spiders crawling on - and through - his skin keep the angered Thyrsus from gaining solid purchase, however.
Grapple Attempt
Errant grit his teeth as he did his best to keep his sights lined up. He barely recalled the ex-Arrow, but he knew he wouldn't stand a chance in a brawl with him. "Dammit" he grunts. Orphan asked for 'people who can handle a gun', not 'professional wrestlers'. Hopefully Orphan and Shadow could shake him off, and soon.

"This is no good," Orphan thinks quickly. "Getting away from Tug is going to be tough, if I can do it all, and we don't have time. The others need help, and there could be more enemy headed onto the roof."
The best solution, as he saw it, was to not be in this situation, and to keep from ending up in the same place if at all possible. Thus, he wound time backwards, planning to shift things just enough to hope for a better outcome.
Shifting Sands
Pushing through the dark tendrils of the Abyss, Orphan rolls time backwards just a few seconds. This time, instead of firing at Tug, he holds the shotgun in his left hand while quick-drawing his wakizashi with his right. He then waits, acting as if he's looking for an opening to attach, attempting to draw Tug's attention while being prepared to dodge out of the way if Tug lunges at him as expected.
Plan = draw Tug's attention, and if he lunges at Orphan, Orphan spends 1 WP to add +2 to his Dodge, result = Dodge 6 +2 WP + 3 = -11 for Tug to hit.
"Don't let him grab you!" he shouts to the others.

Wait, Tug? Spade unleashes the spell, the immediate area around Nega-Tug landed shifted chemically. H2O became NaClO; pure bleach. At the same time the liquid directly beneath Nega-Tug erupts upward like squid tentacles, they grasp round Tug's legs and covers them with Bleach. None of it spilles off but remains clung to Tug.
Spade cries out as his shoulder smolders with Abyssal fire, searing his flesh.
