(On the Hunt) Chasing Rumours

There are Hunters abroad in the city!

This scene is reserved for tracking them down!

So far, you know that the Hunter's most likely drove out the last known Brood cell with fire, bullets and extreme prejudice. The cell had been holed up in an old Junkyard in Elk Grove, just south of the city proper; and it would appear that the Hunter's stormed it through the front gate and burned the Brood's haven to the ground.

You also know that Cynthia Weiss and @Mabel Wood Psychangel spotted another pair of Hunter's dispatching a lone vampire in Sacramento Historic City Cemetery. Cynthia was able to get the licence plate of the Hunter's car before they drove off. One of the Hunter's appeared to have been the vampire's father.

The Hunter's remain elusive and knowledge of their plans, goals, and structure is none existent at this point.

[Izayoi Goto]

Running shoes replace sleek heels. Fitted, functional and dark clothing replace traditional elegance pair with modern lines. Armour warn beneath her sweater, protecting her unbeating heart.

She walks the streets, poised and ready. Rumours of Hunters and worse. Senses alert she scans her surroundings. Takeda-sama had given her a mission by Deputizing her and she will not fail her master.

Surveying the streets around the Junkyard was a genderless blob in a washed-out gray hoodie pulled up over features, sweatpants, and well-worn sneakers. Her ears and eyes heightened to supernatural levels.

Clara had volunteered to help the Court with a possible interrogation. Her Beast coiled and uncoiled at a vaguely familiar thrill coming from a figure walking towards her. Clara crossed the street before she crossed with Goto and kept her stride steady. "Ho, Madam Goto," she said in a sultry voice barely above a whisper. "Didn't know you'd be here. Feel safer already." She was counting on her Blood calling Goto's focus onto her briefly. If anything, she was happy talking to herself to steel her nerves.

The figure kept walking without slowing and kept to natural shadows. She eventually slumped to a seated position next to a nearby dumpster and let her body's stillness imitate a vagabond's nap. She remained within Goto's line of sight.

[Mable Wood]

Every since the encounter in the cemetery, Mable had been on high alert for the hunters. Tonight she was working on the trees near the streets. She was watering and measuring the trees and had her truck near by.

She could feel the pull of beasts, causing her to pause in her work and look around. Miss Goto's weak beast made Mable's blood roar. She calmed herself and noticed two other's also on the street. Their beasts equaled her own. Curiosity helped to quell the pulling beast who wanted blood.

Mable watched the fellow beasts from across the street.

Elk Grove Boulevard by night: a long straight road that scythes through the landscape, a river into which every other street in the area pours. Rural emptiness ran next to light industry and suburban high street in a seemingly endless loop, which made navigation oddly difficult as one never quite knew, relatively speaking, where one was in relation to the greater city to the north.

About the only thing that is certain is the pervading small town feel of the area. The lights are few and the darkness heavy and all encompassing at this deep of the summer night. The heat of the day is still malingering and the air is slightly moist, breathing in silence. Not a sinister silence, mind; at this time of year the night hours are welcome respite for reflection and the Kindred are perhaps lucky that there are not more Kine abroad on this stretch of road.

Mable is working, quiet and alone.

Nor is there anyone to catch Clara as she positions herself to watch and wait. The dumpster doesn't even smell that bad.

The Colonel and the ninja pound the streets around about. His circuit is slower where he finds a bar still open (and narrowly escapes a long conversation about football) and a well lit bottle shop (where the staff and a long time customer enjoy the lingering warmth of the concrete outside). This was lucky for John Davis as he notices a cheap poster advertising a new church group in the area.

"Yeah. Two young men built like quarterbacks came through. They bought some wine and left me with that." The shop staffer lays a thick fingered hand on his bull neck as he speaks.
Izayoi Goto catches sight of about the only activity on their sweep: a man with a bandana on his head and thick arms corded with muscle is purposefully ripping papers from a public noticeboard. Its an act of controlled violence and the shredded paper is cast high upon the sultry air. Stretching his powerful arms he heads over to a dirt smeared pick up. The driver, a lean figure with a bushy moustache, laughs at the display. When the Mekhet reaches the noticeboard, she notes that the shredded pamphlet referred to a new church group. Mooching around, she lays hands on a more-or-less intact pamphlet.

Events converge as the pickup takes off, looping back onto the Boulevard proper. It cruises for a bit before gently stopping by a crumbling strip where a few shops cling tenaciously next to a larger, more ruined, lot. The shops are closed and the street is shadowed. As fate would have it, @Mable is within walking distance and @Clare E. Verne is hidden in the shadows of the alley formed between the shops themselves. The two men completely miss the hidden Daeva and Mable is dismissed out of hand.

"Thats the one," the driver intones with a voice cauterised by his drawl.

"Well fuck. Nope. Not having it. Who do they think they are?" The passenger - heavier by far - clambers out of the cab and rummages through the tray for a large can of paint and a brush. He heads over to the ruined lot where he starts attacking some of the fresher graffiti, arm working furiously.

The ninja and the Colonel appear on the main Street, comping from opposite directions.

To clarify:-
Mable is on the opposite side of the road and further down in relation to the ruined lot.
Clare is right next to it, hidden in between the two shops right next to the ruined lot.
The Colonel and the Ninja are on the coming from opposite directions - and they are on the same side of the street as the ruined lot.

[Izayoi Goto]

At the noticeboard Izayoi stops, flooding her system with false life as the kine mill about, allowing the tides of Jigoku to rise, the thunderous roaring to rattle the bars. She who keeps her blood thin on purpose freezes as the demons and devils converge upon this street. She takes a breath, allows the pamphlet to draw her attention. She takes the time to examine it properly. Reading the words, mentally noting addresses, and keywords while reflexively noticing the quality of the paper used and expectedly finding it lacking.

She hides not her eyeroll as the Colonel yells down the street at her. Goto was her name, yes. But it was for privacy and Elysia only. As any Kindred of age, her name among the kine was different. She refrains from clicking her tongue at the use of her title however, and places another mark upon the tally. He would not last.

[Mable Wood]

Mable stops working as she watches the kindred meet up on the street. A truck pulls up with two men. Mable chews on a fingernail and watches. When the men start to paint the wall she decides she needs to go over and make sure they aren't doing something they shouldn't.

She crosses the street and starts to focus on breathing...In 1.2.3. out 1.2.3. She gets the rhythm down so it is natural. Her cell phone in hand to dial 911 if needed.

Approaching the men... "Hello. I'm from the Urban Forestry, Parks, and Recreation. May I ask what you are doing and who authorized you?"

Mable gave a little tilt to her head as she patiently waited for their answer.

Mable has her hunting knife in her boot, cell phone in her hand, and is dressed in her forestry uniform consisting of work boots, tan shorts, tan shirt with the Urban forestry emblem, and a black tank top. She also has on a baseball cap with the forestry emblem. Hanging off her belt is a measuring tape, flash light, and hammer.

[Clara E. Verne]

Clara felt her guts stir with excitement as two new Predators conveyed an innocuous street on a warm summer night. Blood will be spilled tonight. Dare to dream. Instantly feeling a wave of guilt at the thought, Clara focused on the figures armed with paint and paint rollers. She gave the two men a brief look over before focusing intently on what they were here to paint over. Why cover up art with a coat of boring paint?

She remained on her perch unsure what to do. They were two men on a mission but that didn't mean much. It was only when Clara noticed a Beast in the form of a Girl Next Door approach the men that Clara found her resolve. Someone else thought there was something there. That warranted at least a look. She coaxed counterfeit life into her body and quivered with pleasure. She watched Mable and, with her sharpened ears, heard her cover story. Clara shrugged.

A jogger with her hoodie pulled up over her features happened to cut through parking lot. The jogger saw the two men and imitated their mannerisms with what limited observation Clara had.

Clara held her Beast at bay as she passed Mable and continued to the graffiti covered wall. The other girl's Blood was potent enough that Clara thought she shouldn't wilt. She put her hands on her hips to act like she's catching her breath. "Oy. That's not some new gang, is it?" She asked motioning towards the fresh graffiti.
