Coffee, Creamer and Cabals

[Lacuna]

Lacuna blinks, then blinks again.

She sets her mug on the side table, swallowing - staling - as she takes in what the Acanthus insinuated.

"Oh." she says lamely, frowning more at her lack of understanding then at Hamia and her admission. "Obvioysly that is not what I meant." uncomfortable, the burnette had been assuming, while obviously finding that thought...inoffensive. All the while Lacuna had been feeling the stirings of a maternal sort of protectiveness towards the Talon.

The awkwardness that could develop fails to as Hamia ploughs onward towards the topic that brought them to Lacuna's shitty motel room.

The idea proposed by the Warlock is expanded upon and driven away from the thoughts of the Hpund of the Underworld.

"Hounds of Artemis?" sound more self-important then the last crew she'd been apart of, but they'd called themselves after an intersection. "Sounds good to me." she nods, "Are we open to more members?" which is followed by "Think we should go recruiting?" if the answer is positive.

[Hamia]

Just the slightest hint of disappointment crosses the Acanthus's features as Lacuna - for all intents and purposes - shoots her down. She bites her lip, but quickly recovers as she continues.

"Really? Well, that's... that's great!" she nods to herself, seeming to convince herself all the more for doing so. "And yes, we should. I mean... eventually? I don't really know anyone here all that well." Her eyes meet her mug again, though she tries to play off her lack of confidence. Quickly, she turns her eyes up again and adds "But, that's the point, right? If we get to know them better we can see who's on the same page. Who's, um... likeminded." The statement is as open-ended as it could be, given the things Hamia hasn't discussed openly. Even with Lacuna.

[Lacuna]

"Likeminded." Lacuna echoes with a nod. She reaches for her piss poor coffee and take a drink. Ruminating on the hesitation and the final word choice from her new cabal mate. Did the burnette mean for the obvious purpose of this venture, or was she missing the obvious again.

Eyes fick up to the Talan who made an assumption based off what she'd said, and didn't find her offensive in the assumed asking.

"Well," she starts after to long circling her own thoughts, "We'll have to go out, meet the others see if any will...jell with us."

Lacuna drains her coffee and pours herself another, "Wish we had an Obrimos, first order of business is finding a Hollow. Building a Sanctum." the words familiar now after so long, but they still leave a unpleasant taste in her mouth.

[Hamia]

"Of course! Right... jell. It's not that any of them seem off or anything, I just need time. To get to know them." She doesn't sound entirely sincere. There's a lot of hurt still buried beneath her attempted cheer. Her eyes drift to the coffee again and she lets out a sigh.

"Sounds like a lot of work. Just finding a Hallow will be the hardest part. Fonts of magic don't just spring to life because you wish them to." She smiles along with another attempt at humor. "But I agree: we should get all that sorted out as soon as we can. Then we can have a 'base of operations'. Outside of the Circle, I mean." This much, at least, she delivers with enthusiasm. Which only makes sense, considering it would be one more place to be away from... basically everything else.

[Lacuna]

A nod, even as she reaches over to pour Haima another cup. "Of course. I don't want to invite them into our Cabal only to regret it."

Returning to her lumpy bed and her own coffee,

"They might not spring from nowhere but we have impeccable running and boundless luck on our side," said softly, with unwavering encouragement.

Feels like we're winding down, we good to wrap?

[Hamia]

To that, Hamia can only nod. Her brows knit together and she offers a half-smile. "I promise I'll try not to make you regret having me around." Which she offers as sincerely as she can. Never mind the fact she thought this meeting would end in sex... Lacuna had handled it gracefully enough. Most people tend to break off encounters like that, but she hadn't kicked the Enchantress out yet.

"I suppose we do. Well, here's to our union. To Hounds of Artemis." she says, offering a mock toast with her mostly empty mug.

Yeppers. We can end on this or you can make closing comments.

[Lacuna]

"I carry the same sentiment, " said solemnly over the steam of her scalding coffee. "The truth will set us free," there might be a bite of something underneath the words, but she carries on without pause, "If either of us start to piss the other off, or whatever else, we need to have a sit down and talk. Same goes with anyone else we invite."

Lacuna returns the gesture, "To tge Hounds of Artemis,"
