In the Mirror Maze, the Dancer had brought in a few extra chairs for the meeting. She was delighted to meet the new people, especially without the mask. There were four of them now, and at this time last year, she recalled it was only herself.

It was the evening, and the park was virtually closed when it was this time of the day in the early days of Spring. Still, Sasha put up the sign the closed sign just in case someone were to trickle through.

Inside, there was coffee of course, and a small fridge full of beverages. A plate of petite fours was sitting on the desk in spring like colors, since that was what the grocery store had in stock. The Dancer couldn't cook much past single meals, and baking was chemistry, which was not her forte.

She sat in the chair behind the desk, a notebook open and blank to one side, the other side, various notes for the Blue Note. There were four chairs around a small coffee table that she brought from home for the meeting. Her hair to the side which seemed to compliment the suede jacket, tight pants and boots she wore and studied the items on the list in front of her.

Quick is crowned with an ostentatious arc of hair that resembles a jagged bolt of lightning. He is very lithe and slightly taller than his Mask appears. His skin is a very pale shade of teal, and is covered in tiny filaments like cracks which glow an orange-red. The tips of his fingers and toes come to points, and his shoulders have hard, jagged projections growing from them.

The Levinquick appears out of the exit passage of the Maze proper, giving Sasha a thumbs up. "House is clear. Wanted to check things out. To be safe. Caught some kids making out in there after hours, once." He shakes his head in mock piety, grinning a little at the Winter Sovereign.

Call it pre-meeting jitters, or whatever, but Quick can't help but deflect with humor. Throwing a party is one thing: actually meeting with Winters to be Winters is something else. Something he has no idea how to approach.

Putting on a brave face - a brave James face - he strides over to one of the open chairs and snags a little pastry before making his landing. He nearly takes to task on it in one bite, leaving only a small portion behind. A stray crumb lands on the front of his forest-green hoodie, and he brushes it away.

The Darkling slipped through the shadows. He walked unnoticed. Arriving within range of the Mirror Maze, he let himself in. Seeing himself in the mirrors, he looked at himself. No face, just an approximation. Silver like the very surface he was looking at. He placed his hand upon the mirror. Hard to believe this is me.

His time of thought and meditation passed. The Faceless moved on to the "exit." He found himself near Quick and Sasha. "Howdy," he greeted them.

The clockwork veteran attempted to make his way quietly to the Mirror House. In retrospect, purchasing the spun sugar had been a mistake. His hands were distractedly sticky despite depositing the damnable thing in a waste can just moments earlier.

As Verne entered the Maze of Mirrors, he caught his reflection. Or rather the reflection of his mask. He was caught in a revery of trying to recall who he was and... who he was. Gears slipped and stuttered as he try to determine the border twixt reality (such as it was) and illusion... such as it was.

This was a horrible place, he decided. The stuff of nightmares.

    How apropos.

A small chime reminded Verne of the business at hand, and promptly sorted out the path to his destination. Quietly entering the room he noted a woman in snug pants and a light leather jacket he assessed as being the Dark Lady of the Winter's Masque. "Madame," he gave a curt but respectful nod of the head.

"Master John, Mister Quick," he nodded stiffly to the other gentleman present, "Salutations, all."

Glancing to the chairs and the small coffee table at their collective center, he sighed with a nod of acceptance. He noted the colorful petit fours. Verne decided against the sweet tidbits and side-eyed the coffee instead.

Looking up as Quick entered, she shut the one book she was going through. "Well, perhaps we should get a few fake security cameras and install them back there." She giggled slightly. Yet, it was just as dangerous for people to be lurking in Sacramento as it was for someone to accidentally overhear Changeling business.

"Thank you for taking the precaution, I appreciate it."

No sooner than she spoke, another had joined them. The faceless man approached, and spoke. It was probably peculiar for him to finally see her own face for the first time. "Well hello." She thought she may have heard the stirrings of someone in the back, but was very aware that another could be joining at any time.

And finally, another arrived, which should have made the quartet now complete. First impressions were just as that, and she watched the two of them interact with herself and Quick. She bowed her head in acknowledgement of the nod of the head from the Wizened. The last man seemed more astute than the other. An interesting mixture from what she'd been used to.

"I am glad you've all arrived. If you would like to have a seat, please do so." Sasha rose and moved to the front of the desk to lean upon it. "Please, feel free to some coffee or treats if you'd like."

"I am unsure who had all met each other previously, but, since I am now without a mask, I'll introduce myself. I'm Sasha, or Sasha Collins. Some used to know me as L'aire, the name given by my Keeper. I am really glad you could all come today. We have not had this many in Winter's court for quite some time." Her face was alight with curiosity and her friendliness was genuine, as could now be seen on her face without the guard of a shell.

"No biggie. Just being cautious." he answers the Sovereign with a shrug.

When the newcomers arrive, Quick has mixed reactions. Mixed with mixed levels of recognition. The faceless guy looks like Alex v2.0, with upgrades in the vague-er-y of face. Which makes Quick sad for some reason. A blink. "Hey."

Then the clockwork guy, with his crazy titles. He gets a nod back, with half a smile. Guy isn't a far-shot from his getup at the Masquerade, if we're being honest. His Mien, that is. Enough of it had been showing the last time he'd seen the guy. Verne, right?

Which leaves Quick in a room with three unmasked Winters. If it were anyone else - anyone other than, you know, Quick - there would be some self-conscious thoughts about being the only one hiding his true face. Anyone else, though? Probably wouldn't get it. Another blink.

"And, for reminders? I'm Quick. Born James Brookes."
he adds, not getting up from his seat. But, his piece being said, his thoughts linger on what Sasha said. Kind of cool. To be part of something big. Small, but, you know, big.

The Faceless rubbed the back of his head. He hadn't figured they'd give the names they were born with. He didn't want to admit he couldn't remember.

"Hi Sasha," he greeted the Monarch first. Then to the relatively new Winter Courtier, "Hey Quick." And at last, "Hi Verne."

"I'm John Doe," he announced. "Former Sun Banisher of Laramie, Wyoming." He cast his glance to Quick and Verne. Sasha had seen his coded message at the Masquerade.

Sasha... Sasha Collins... Keeper named 'L'aire'... aka Dark Lady... aka Winter Monarch...

John Doe... Sun Banisher of Laramie, Wyoming... Was that a name or title? Wyoming. Mid-Western State of the America's?

Mister NOT MASTER Quick. Born James Brookes. Had the lad mentioned that and Verne had forgotten already.

The clockwork veteran attempted to make mental notes of the information revealed as he offered a brief, longing glance to the coffee offered. *Focus mental resources on the business at hand,* Verne determined and promptly, if quietly, took a seat at the small table with a curt nod to indicate his readiness.

Ever wary, he cast a quick glance about the room for anything... untoward.
