The wolves, still within the embrace of the material world, have no trouble finishing the trek to the brick railyard buildings, sitting desolate and abandoned, with ancient tracks leading deep into their bowels. And, following those tracks, the wolves manage to slip into the building. The dust hangs in the air, as well as cat piss, rat droppings, the fading scent of blood, and...something else. Something that seems to curl up inside their noses, something that reminds them of syrup and black rot, though what the smell could be coming from, the wolves weren't sure. It wasn't from the locus, though, thank Luna...
No, the locus smelled the same as when Kid had first gotten a whiff of it, all blood and entrails, cracked bones and fading life, and it was coming from...one of the tracks. The oldest of the tracks, a particularly discolored thing that seemed to vibrate faintly, as though a train was coming round the bend...though there was no bend.
They'd found it. A gateway into the Shadow.
All they had to do now was step sideways...
To step sideways: spend an essence, or roll intelligence+presence+primal urge-2 (daytime). Wits+occult+primal urge-2 to determine the resonance.
