Campanella the Moros died last night, in Washington, D.C.

If you'd bothered to look through today's paper you might have noticed the little column: a violent mugging gone wrong; a criminal thug apprehended; a lobbyist left for dead in an underground car park. That is the story the Seer's crafted to cover their work.

Campanella the Moros died last night, in Washington, D.C.

The Seer's had been watching him for some time as he built his delicate web on the fringes of the political machine. The Hegemonic Ministry had found him first but, glutted with the recent victory over the Pentacle they sat on their haunches and watched and plotted elaborate schemes to draw the newly Awakened mage into the fold.

They got very upset when the Mysterium snatched him up from under their nose. As far as I know, the Ministry still believed they could tempt him with power and influence.

They Eye saw him too. The Eye saw the Mysterium convert the newly Awakened mage. But they too were glutted from the recent feast and far more interested in clearing out the remaining sources of Pentacle influence from the halls of power. Campanella the mage was small fry and once his allegiance was known, it was easy enough to prepare a lethal contingency.

Now the Preatorian Ministry? They had a different view. Flush from victory, hungry, the Seer's of this Ministry decided to make an example of this young mage. How dare he submit to the Pentacle's pathetic lies? How dare the Pentacle think they can use a mere neophyte to claw back some of their waning influence!

Fools!

It was a simple hunt-and-kill operation in the end.

One less Pentacle mage. And Campanella the Moros was smoking and dead by his car. Let the Eye clean up the mess for once.
