Sera wasn’t completely sure what brought her to the cemetery once again. Was it knowing the fate of her mother? Was she a gluten for punishment? Or did she want to overcome that disgusting feeling that came with sadness? Maybe it was a mixture of all those reasons, the Nix wasn’t sure, but here she was. On her funeral finest, simple black dress and black hat with one of those little veils attached to it. Sunglass hid her sapphire eyes, and allowed her to observe the people without being obvious.

She learned from her last trip here that the most sorrow was towards the head of the casket, where there was usually a widow or parent. And today was no exception.

Did death fascinate her? Or was she just terrified of sadness and grief? It wasn’t an emotion she really dealt with, not since being Taken. Being locked in that damn cage upon the pedestal, her Keepers vast wealth piled up around her.

Maybe she was just afraid of being sad, that it would take that light from within her.

Damn, these funerals really made her reflect, which was probably a good thing, in some way.
Which didn’t mean she liked it.

With a shallow shake of her head, she squeezes her eyes shut, trying to push the thoughts away. This wasn’t the time.

Eyes snap open and find her target, a widow. Sitting down, tearing a tissues apart as the priest says his words. A friend or family member places a gentle, and perhaps comforting, hand on the woman’s shoulder. Which heaved with the weight of obvious grief. The friend presses a fresh tissue into the woman’s hands, head bows to whisper something in her ear. Her own words of comfort for the woman?

Sapphire study the woman, the movement as her body heaved with sobs, the way the sun caught the glisten of the fresh tears that streamed down her cheeks.

Was it possible for people to miss you that much when you died, wondered the Treasured with a tilt of her head.

And as she focused, the music began in her head. A dark, mellow and soulful violin. Each note filling her not only with what she was after, Glamour, but that weird sad feeling. Her heart began to ache, her stomach feeling like there was hole in it.

No, she had what she came for.

With a shake of her head once again, the Nix made her exit.
