(1704) Jacob and Asa

Asa turned and studied the newcomer for a moment. Even in conversation, his eyes regularly found Twist and so he'd seen the man bounce about Elysium like a steel ball in a pinball machine. The lack of patience or sense of decorum in interrupting conversations made his Beast stir. It was Maddox who initiated the conversation, though, and he waited for the other man to respond -- but the appearance of the ghoul obviated the need.

He'd quite decided the man came from a rural coterie or was newly Embraced when he held up his finger to pause Lyssa. "You might suggest to Seneschal Hart that one of the many favors Mr. Stax has handed out could be used to... guide... newcomers for the duration of his residence."

A Boon was worthless if it was never used before someone simply left. And it did seem the Domain had a need for wet-nurses. Asa turned back to Jacob and listened, dismissing the other two from his attention.

"I'd rather speak of such things in the privacy of the Chapter House," Asa replied, eyes moving over Court. "But I'm glad to hear that you've decided to stop holding yourself back. Change of any sort is impossible without the agent, or desire, to do so."

"Ah, of course." It was too bad there was still so much secrecy. He wasn't so sure it was as straight forward as a 'decision', it wasn't exactly like flipping a light switch. One had to first realize they were being held back, then realize what was holding them back, then overcome it.

And overcoming is often a complex task. "I'm glad as well, it's so simple to be blind to the fact one is being held back. Far easier to blame circumstance than self."

"Well Prince Clarke, I'll be sure to run a few dates and times past you for convenience. I hope we can get into more detail later at the chapter house, have a good night." He smiled wanly before bowing and unless called back or questioned returns to Court proper.

"You as well."

Asa watched the other Dragon leave. Some of his thoughts and perceptions raised the question of who had inducted or invited him into the Order, and Asa made a mental note to ask the man about it later.
