Circle of Creation

This is a Sanctuary thread; Sticky, and Open to all.
I've put it in the main forum since there aren't enough threads to warrant spreading them around and hopefully this will keep anyone from overlooking it.
This is not a formal Consilium -- that's next month.

The Circle of Creation.

Sweeping stone heights and towers shade and shelter the Awakened of Sacramento. It wasn't always that way, had been that way, wasn't that way, but it is now. It's been more in the past months: a gateway to the unknown from which some remember passing through, and some have disappeared into.

And yet it is still the home of all five Orders. A place to gather, socialize, or even play basketball at the new backboard that's appeared recently in the yard.

To solve the timey-wimey stuff, anyone in Titanic is free to join and even remember things up until that timeline's current events. Those characters have rejoined this continuity -- except the ones that haven't (Arthur, Runner).

[Truce]

Truce exits the cathedral's conclave, the home of the Silver Ladder, with a look of uncertainty crossing his expression. He had yet to hear of the success or failure of those who crossed through the portal of time. Everything seems unaffected, as far as he could tell. He considers performing a divination, but wouldn't that too be fooled by Seer meddling in reality? With his Cabal and Order restructuring as well as the barbecue preparations, one would think that the Silver Ladder's candidate for Hierarch would have kept the restructuring of the timeline as a higher priority.

The Necromancer Councillor walks the halls of the Circle of Creation, seeking out other Magi to converse with. He wears a gray vest over a buttoned shirt and tie, often favoring business casual attire. And upon his pattern he wears shielding, for one never knows what danger might arrive from without or within.

[Fisher]

The sound of a basketball bouncing on hard stone or concrete can be heard coming from the courtyard area. Occasionally the sound of bouncing off metal or a backboard can be heard breaking up the steady dribbling.

Should anyone choose to investigate, Fisher is racing around the court, dribbling, and shooting baskets by herself. She is wearing a fuschia sports bra and a small pair of matching running shorts. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail and she wore a pair of white sneakers. She had a light sweat going and was clearly exerting herself.

The city had been under a lot of stress lately and so she figured it would be time to work off some of that stress. The sight of a basketball hoop had been a source of great excitement for her and she didn't waste anytime changing clothes, dumping the discarded street clothes out of the way on the side of the court, and start playing. If anyone approaches talk to her she will stop or slow down to greet them.

[Aurora]

Faye pulls up to the church, pausing in her car for a moment. This would be the first Consilium after the shake up, it would also be her first as a Counselor. Taking a deep breath, she pushes open the door, ready for whatever might happen today. She just hoped it was nothing bad and the infighting would be minimum.

She didn’t want to dress too formal, cause that just wasn’t her. A pair of shorts were paired with a white tank top and leather booties. It was still summer and damnit, she wanted to wear shorts. Her long hair was down and sunglasses were pushed on top of her head.

Walking inside, she first spots Truce, smiling as she walks up to him, “Hey! You ready?” it was a fair question. He was going to put himself out there for the Hierarch position.

[Wayland]

Wayland walked into the main hall having finished some minor project he was working on. Just trying to fix some of the broken plumbing in the Circle. The gas bottle he'd been using to weld to copper pipes were certainly hot and he was now sporting a number of small scorch marks and small holes from various drops of hot copper. He considered changing, but honestly the burns were a mark of the Powersmiths and he was proud to wear them.

Spotting Truce talking to Faye he decided now was as good a time as any to get his most important issue settled. "Hey Truce, Faye," he nodded to the beauty beside Truce, "How's things man? Look, you know how Bastion Ascendant was like, a temporary cabal? Well, it turned out to be very temporary, so, I wanted to ask you, and Faye, if there was a possibility I could foster with you guys for a while."

There was genuine concern and apprehension on his face. Lack of security tended not to do well on one's nerves in such times after all. "It's just that i've been without a cabal for a while now, and I have skills that I think would benefit your cabal. By the way, I think Strix is pretty much in the same boat too ya know?"

[Truce]

Upon view of the common yard, Truce catches sight of Fisher. Her graceful movements and handling of the basketball seem preternatural. Perhaps she was a professional before coming to the city, he wonders. The Councillor for the Path of Ecstasy is certainly capable, though considering she is an Arrow, it should be expected of her Order.

He observes her thoughtfully as she dribbles and makes shots at the hoop. Her name had also come up in the Hierarch discussion. But is she wise? Truce doesn't know.

Before he is able to entertain the idea of interrupting her, Faye and Wayland find him.

"Councillor Faye, good evening," he answers, returning the smile. "Ready? I suppose I'm ready as I'll ever be." His bid for the Hierarch seat would only happen if he could receive the majority support of the Consilium. He'd never held so high an office before. But then neither had anyone else among them, as far as he knew.

"Wayland," Truce says in greeting to his Pathmate, nodding his head. It had been some time since they spoke and Truce is reminded of his conversation with Strix. "Things are fine, though you look as though you've stepped out of a furnace. All is well I hope?"

He listens as Wayland shares his plight with them. Truce looks to Faye with some surprise at the sudden request. "Oh! Um, well, that is a concern, certainly. So those plans fell through then? Well, I don't see a problem with that. I had extended that offer to Strix as well, when I spoke with him last. Would that be alright with you, Faye?"

He isn't sure how well Faye knows Wayland or Strix. How would the Enchanter feel about living with several Necromancers, he wonders.

With deft skill the new Mystagogue parks her black motorcycle, the type of vehicle that excels in crowded streets burgeoning with car traffic, and for those unafraid to drive fast and risk a little bit it’s the most expeditious way to traverse the city. Black Swan knows that, and is counting on it…

The imago of her unseen shield manifests in her mind’s eye and the tapestry is woven to her will. She does the same for her mage sight.

After ensuring simple protection measures are met the english woman enters the circle of creation, she is wearing black army boots, black leggings a white t-shirt and a light trench coat the color of concrete that is tied around her waist. Her hair is also tied back, around her eyes there is a healthy dosage of black shade and her freckles seem to somehow shy away under the light touch of base.

Her lazy hazel eyes look to the others around and she raises her hand in greeting.

Herald's the Unicorn's arrival.

Wearing, a brand-new Tinkerbell baby-doll tee, her worn wall-mart cheep boots, and equally worn jeans, patched in places, cut and torn in others, while a few smaller holes are taped with either black electrical tape or the telltale sheen of silvery duck tape.

Hazel eyes see the black bike parked after her imago forms as she draws on Fate for her sight and shield. Up the steps drawn the the noise of Fisher dribbling the ball "'Sup Starving Smurf?" she calls with a grin to her cabalmate. "You know if Wayland or Stix is here yet?" the question's asked just to ask, and to fill what could be an awkward silence of Tuesday staring at the shaman's athleticism.
