Seriously? They wanted to do more postponing?

Avis' jaw clenched, but she restrained herself from cursing. Walking into a building they knew nothing about would be dangerous; doing it when they had the chance to gain knowledge of it first was just stupid. It's just that Avis felt the hands of the clock moving ever downward, like the head of the executioners axe.

"I do know where she is,"
Avis corrected, "but if you want to do your...whatever, then do it. Just be fast. I'd rather stand in a nest of fire ants then stand around waiting."

"Of course," answers Truce matter-of-factly to Star. The Necromancer isn't looking forward to the backlash from such workings, but it would be a safe way to enter, assuming there aren't any dangerous Ghosts on the prowl or other Twilight entities. "Though I should probably check the area first..."

Forming two sets of mudras, Truce chants high speech to focus his Imago into being and alter his Sight to the neighboring plane. It'd be easy to sense the area for conscious entities as well as a means to detect Carly once on the other side.

He takes a moment to gauge his surroundings, looking for shadowy figures or ephemeral bodies lurking about while remarking to Star, "I don't think anyone would notice if we slip through quickly."

"I think this will be faster, though?"

It is a question. The placation isn't a guarantee, but an explanation to the Clenched Jaw. Rawr.

    "And maybe safer for Carly."

They didn't know what The Bad Guys would do if they were discovered. Or if they'd have to fight their way out. There are two ways to Plan. One? To account, plan for, for every variable.

The second is to just make them disappear.

Truce understood as well as any Mage that the world around them was not as it appeared. With the help of the Supernal he could see beyond the Lie. Beyond the bounds of reality and into Twilight. While those in his party may just see thick walls and a small window, Truce could sense more. Much more.

Not far around him he could sense one lighthouse of consciousness pop up, then another, and then another. They were not clear enough to target or use as a connection. They were more like pings on a radar, popping up for an instant then fading away until the next ping arrived. But Truce could tell that there were people through the building on both the left and right of them. The ones of most importance for them though were a group of what seemed like six consciousnesses grouped together beyond the entrance to the far left hallway. They weren't really moving, other than the two recent consciousnesses who had joined the ones already there.

Truce also sensed four other consciousnesses down the right hand hallway, but these weren't grouped together. The space of a small room separated them from each other, though one consciousness felt different from the others. Stranger and with less substance.

Sorry for taking so long to respond.

Truce closes his eyes a moment, shutting out his vision to concentrate on the new information that comes to him from the universal consciousness.

"There's a group on the left, in that general direction. Might be a half dozen. Then there's four distinct ones on the right. They seem isolated. Probably one of them is Carly. If there are others here being held prisoner then it's going to be troublesome to keep opening and closing the Gate for them,"
    Truce informs his companions.

"And I think one of these minds already exist in Twilight," he says, his expression growing serious. That doesn't bode well for the detective's son. He opens his eyes again, settling his gaze on Star. "But I'm willing to give it a try anyways, if it aids us in securing them safely."

"I assume we'll want to get back to the van for when you cast?" Avis asked, mostly rhetorically. Obviously they couldn't just step into the Twilight in broad daylight, in the open.

"Come on," she snapped, turning away from the door and jogging back toward the van, bow held tightly to her side so her body would hopefully block sight of it on at least one side.

    Humble pie, hot 'n steamy.

    Gobble it up.

It's not just missing something. Everyone does that. No bigs. It's How. It's having all the details, but letting tunnel vision shut them all out. It's doing exactly what your entire craft is about. A marksman forgetting to load their rifle. A sky-diver forgetting to arrange airfare.

    It's pretty funny.

A wildly inappropriate snicker slipped out, replaced by a I-Didn't-Just-Snicker totally serious nod. Not. Just. Carly. Well. At least they had a van. But half a dozen perps? That's a lot. That a lot for an Arrow, a cardist, and a taser.

    "Let's do it."

They'd figure it out. He was pretty good at improvising.

Back to the van. Truce climbs in and begins to focus on the Imago. Chanting in high speech, the Necromancer imagines the world caving away into shadow, creating a breach or bridge into Twilight. Wielding his ringed finger and relying on its attuned focus, he pushes against the Abyss to manifest the working. To the senses of the other occupants, the Necromancer's Nimbus erupts with the moaning sounds of the dead and wispy white hands grasping about from his pattern. The eerie ambiance is just a prelude to their next task.

The gate is slim, only wide enough for a single person to pass through at a time. But that's just fine for their purposes.

"I'd suggest ladies first, but perhaps I should take the lead this time," suggests Truce as he steps through to the other side.

Out of all the invisible realms, Twilight was the one most similar to the material realm, especially since it shared this side of the Gauntlet with 'the real world'. In fact, walking through the gate didn't change them that much compared to all the other invisible dangerous hidden from those who could not seen.

It was like a thin veil hung over the world and themselves, a veil most didn't even know existed. Those who walked through became like the ghosts of nightmares and campfire stories; ephemeral in nature, bringing with it all the positive and negative aspects of that state. Here and yet disconnected from the world as many knew it. What one did in that state was up to them.
