(Plot) The Masquerade

[Coco]

As the man drew forth his hidden blade and readied his next lunge, the wasp tossed the unfamiliar token to her off hand and snatched the practice sword off of her belt. She couldn't afford to trust the bespelled weapon, or at least, she couldn't trust her minimal experience with such a style of blade. So, her epee lashed out, blunted steel weaving inside the ensorcelled mortal's guard and testing his grip upon the weapon...

Coco is using quick draw to draw her practice rapier and is attempting to disarm the man with the Disarm merit.

The bespelled hunter's grip was no match for Coco's skill, his knife was easily twisted from his hand, pulling another curse from his lips as he watched it fly away. His hands slapped at his pockets for a few moments before he pulled a stake from an inner pocket. It was obviously the only weapon he had left and he lunged forward in a desperate gamble, hoping that a wild rush would be able to take down his opponent.

Aha! Her goal was in--

"OW!" Coco crowed as the enchanted mortal's weapon struck home, slamming into her form with enough force that she swore she could already feel a bruise purpling already. She'd left herself too open with her last attack, but well, she could survive another faux staking.

Dancing back just enough to give her room for another advance, Coco raised her blade and lunged...

Trying the disarm again. If his defense is more than 2, she fails :C. Also, all out attack, so no defense.

[Trickster]

The blade struck home once again, this time deftly flicking the false and by now damaged stake from the hunter's hands. It spiraled off into the crowd at about the same time the other dancers noticed what was going on and decided to take action. Two pirates and a man in Egyptian robes all tackled the poor hunter, dragging him to the ground and pinning him in place. He didn't put up much of a fight, being too dazed from the lost of the prop stake.

[Tally Benoit]

As Coco disarms the costumed hunter of the wooden stake, her eyes flicker in its direction for a few seconds, slowing her pace as she approaches before looking towards Coco again. Her eyes on the weapon her fellow Freehold member had used. Better keep a better eye on her.

Not that Tally knows much about what's normal and abnormal behavior concerning the other woman, although she might want to see how attached to the sword Coco was, just when they are alone. "I got the hatchet." She states once she's within normal talking distance with Coco, she holds the hatchet up slightly to get Coco's attention to it. "I see you dealt with the stake."

[Coco]

"Ah, Good!" Coco said, moving away from the now limp hunters, towards the Skeleton Wolf. She winced as another Masqueradee bumped into her side, her free hand stealing to her bruised side.

"I'd forgotten what it's like to be hit! This is terrible. We have to find that damn prop maker, quickly. He, or she, has caused far too much chaos here tonight. Far too much to...simply let go." A grim look crossed Coco's face, and her grip tightened on the fake japanese sword. "Let's head back to the stall and see if they've returned. Or if there's another place we might find them."

[Trickster]

The crowd milled around uncertainly as a couple of uniformed bouncers made their efficient way across the dance floor. It was the work of moments before they had the vampire hunter up off the floor and were escorting him out the door. It was unfortunate because he was as much a victim as the rest, but for now he was safely out of the way.

Back at the line of booths, the woman they'd been talking to earlier was standing on tiptoe, craning her neck to try and see what had happened.

[Coco]

The wasp cleared her throat as she strode up to the booth.

"So, your boss isnt back yet? We would really like to speak with them about the possibility of placing a large order.

[Trickster]

The woman turned around and shrugged. "No, but maybe he had to take a call or something." She smiled brightly and turned her full attention to Coco. "But we're always glad to take specialty orders. I can get you started. What is it you're thinking of doing?"

[Coco]

"Well, I happen to be a regional buyer for a rather large retailer, and I like you're product. So, as I said, I want to discuss the prospect of placing orders. Something I'll have to speak to the owner about. I mean, there's all kinds of things we'll need to go over. Production rates, shipping, short term contracts, the works, so I'd appreciate it if you'd help me find him," the Wasp casually lied, spinning a fable so large she hoped the merch flunky would be entirely bowled over by it.
