    Description

Terri's Mask is that of a petite, cute woman with vibrant red hair that has black streaks throughout. Obviously athletic, her natural demeanour is friendly and she always tends to have a smile on her face.

Her fae mien is akin to a red squirrel. She has a long bushy tail and ear tufts that poke through her hair. The black streaks are actually black feathers the are a part of her mien now,; a part of her noble order.

Terri's powerful Mantle initiates itself as the smell of baking bread but brings with it the feeling of the Harvest, that time to take stock of the coming troubles.

It was only an hour to go until the doors closed for the night, and Terri was stiffling a yawn. Not due to being busy; quite the contrary. New Year was always a tough time for any business and this time hadn't been an exception. Christmas and the build up had been great, this was just the consequence of such prosperity. Money was always tight.

Still, the reason she was tired was due to her social ties. Terri had been running ragged over Christmas and needed a little break was all. However, she had several people to meet and thought it best if she got them all out of the way at once. Then, a break. If all goes okay.

Standing by the counter, Terri wore her a stunning dress, one that could be remembered from the Winter's party at the Blue Note. At the moment, the raiment was not glowing. It was just really comfortable. As she waited, Terri jotted down notes. Anyone with a keen eye would notice it was a series of names for a potential Motley.

Mal was a little puffed out and sweaty when she slipped into the quieting foyer. She had managed to slip away from work early to run this errand, and while she didn't hold it against Terri for overshooting Christmas - it had hardly been the biggest disaster of the day - she was still excited about the prospect of giving Ava her 'Real Present'.

As she had just come from work, in a hurry, she was still wearing her apron, sticking out from underneath her hastily donned, and well worn leather bomber jacket.

She moved up to Terri's stall in a half-jog, half breathless shamble. "Hi... Terri..." she panted, bent double, her hands planted on her knees for support.

To human eyes he looks slightly taller than average, with a lean, athletic build. His brown skin gives away his Mohawk ancestry, complementing his equally brown eyes and dark hair. He displays a military-styled haircut, shorter to the sides, and sports a few scars across his body and a particularly visible one in the form of claw marks across his face and neck. A very intense scent of forest, a mixing of pine needles, tree sap, and animal fur, characterizes him.

Those who can see through the Mask observe black-and-white feathers to the sides of his face, that fuse seamlessly with his skin and hairline and close to his golden eyes. His teeth are unusually sharp, displaying fangs that are hard to categorize as belonging to a specific predator, although they most closely resemble a wolf's or some other canine's.

He hoped this was the place. He also hoped, incidentally, that no one would stop him for wandering around what seemed like a mall with his best murderous hobo outfit. At this time. With no money. Yeah, he really didn't want to run into the cops right now. So he made his way in as quickly as possible, looking for the girl from the coffee shop.

She looked fancier than he expected. Did she work here? Brilliant, Sherlock.

    "Hey," was all he said.

So eloquent. Seriously, pal, you're killing it today. He had noticed they weren't alone. Coming in he had caught another 'ling from the corner of his eye. She looked familiar...

"Oh, it's you," he noted with a neutral tone and blank expression, but there was a spark of what may have been amusement in his eyes. He put his hands in his jacket — more specifically, in the tears that used to be pockets — and turned back to Terri. "Didn't figure we'd have company."

Really sorry. I have been meaning to post for several days now.

Terri stood up straight, smiling as ever when Mal jogged to her stall and stopped to catch her breath. For some reason, it made the the Legate chuckle.

"You alright, Mal?" she asked, moving around the counter. "Do you fancy a cola?" If there was one thing Terri had in abundance, it was a fridge well stocked. Any good squirrel would.

The sight of the second figure, Nathan, made Terri turn her head towards him, hair falling slightly over her shoulder. True to his word, he had followed through and that gave Terri some hope he wasn't just another stray; wandering through and not taking roots.

"Nathan! You found the place ok?" she enquired with the usual friendly demeanour before looking between both Beasts. "You've met before?"

"I am fine." Mal huffed breathlessly, still doubled over, then muttered something about sustained bipedal locomotion being harder than she remembered.

Realising they weren't alone, the Iron Adjutant forced herself to stand upright, and try and recover a little bit of dignity, smoothing her skirt and... apron with the flat of her palms. It was difficult to maintain an aura of authority and importance when you were still in your work-clothes, the shortest person present, and knackered, but pride drove her to make the attempt nonetheless.

"Yes. It is me." she said, flatly. "You were expecting the Tooth Fairy, perhaps? Or the Easter Bunny?"

Terri snickered. The idea of Mal with bunny ears and a basket of chocolate just tickled her. Still smiling, Terri decided to get straight down to business and crouched down beneath the counter, using a key to unlock the cabinet; the place she kept all her 'precious' items.

"Mal, I can only apologise for not getting this to you sooner," Terri said with absolute sincerity as she stood, placing a large, decorative box on the counter that was tied with bronze-coloured ribbon. "Christmas and New Year was just...manic. Anyway. No charge. "

"Yeah, no problem," he smiled to Terri. "Can't be missed."

A little short on breath for a predator, aren't you? The other Hunterheart was panting like she had just ran the New York marathon. And oh, did she look pissed. But she would have to look it from below, much to her chagrin. He straightened, towering over her with his full height, and made his best of showing each and every sharp tooth in his mouth. Strangely enough, his expression was more playful than genuinely threatening.

"Oh, you mean you are not one of those?" He made an almost pouty face. "I'm disappointed." He turned to their host. "We've been introduced. One of the first people I met in town, actually. Almost my first fight too." He looked back to... Malory. "Sorry to say someone else ate that particular cherry."

And wouldn't you know, she was getting a present. He wouldn't have guessed she had friends. She had that personality, the kind that was hard to stand and much less appreciate. Unless you had to meet his cousin every other holiday. Then it became kind of a survival technique. Literally, it would seem.

Yes I'm actually still active! I hope to keep up now, but otherwise just see Lucy as the rude uncivilized girl she's supposed to be :P

Maybe a bit later than planned, Lucy arrives. Well you know the type of girl, always saving important things for the very last minute. And because she hates the hypocrite girly-girls who pretend it's alright to be late, for them, it's obvious that Lucy tried to hurry. There's a healthy blush on her cheeks because she tried to walk as hard as possible on her heels.

Hey - when you're going to a place with 'Fashion' in its name you gotta look nice, right? The Elemental is glad that her fiery hair always looks the way it looks for other Changelings, because, to a human eye the disaster of rushing things would be obvious. Her hair is a mess. Earlier today, her appearance was perfect. And she's been eating rice all week to be able to pay for it, so it better be worth it.

Ah well, fuck it. I'd say "I'm only human" but... meh.

Upon arrival Lucy sees some other half familiar faces at the counter. 'Hello everyone! Lucy here.' She gives Nathan a smile and then nods to greet the other woman.

'Thanks for inviting me Terri, you look great!'

Terri's offer caught Mal off-balance. The situation had fallen down into a hairline crack between principles. Mal hated taking things for free. It had the irrational connotation of somehow being connceted to charity, to Pity. And Mal hated being pitied.

Unfortunately, the price they had agreed on was a service she would have gladly provided anyway. So where did that leave them...?

"I will... accept." she said, through gritted teeth to begin with, but becoming more relaxed and sincere as she outlined the mental loophole she was about to exercise. "On the condition you call on me me to help you as your friend, instead of as your debtor."

Taking the carefully wrapped Hedgespun with an appreciative nod, she turned her attention to the wiseass who apparently also had business with the fabulously garbed Squirrel. Her mood souring, visibly, as though someone had just flipped a switch.

It took a great deal of practice to learn the art of looking down on someone, when you are barely five feet tall, but it was a skill Mal had mastered a long time ago.

She glowered at the other Hunterheart, eyes narrow, brow furrowed, a set of teeth even more impressive, and more deadly, than his own, bared in an unquestionably threatening snarl.

If there were three things Mal did not cope well with, it was unfamiliar Changelings, other Hunterhearts inflaming her terratorial instincts, and being mocked.

Okay, so there were waaay more than three things Mal did not cope well with. But Nathan was just tap-dancing on her buttons like a pro.

"Watch yourself." she growled. "I may have missed out on being your first fight. But I am more than willing to be your last."

He took the other Hunterheart's bristling calmly, without his (friendly?) smile giving the slightest hint of fading. It was an impressive set, he would grant her that, but he found his blatantly honest anger refreshing, nonetheless. It felt so good to know where you stood, and he wasn't one to back away from a challenge.

"Would that you were," he said simply. "Another time, perhaps."

Without further ado he turned, giving her his back, to welcome the newcomer.

"Hey," he greeted her, hand up in the air, "looking great."

Being fashionable was the domain of redheads and the two Hunterhearts were sternly exiled from it, it would seem.
