(1409) Meeting of the Mighty

Asp had set up some chairs around the table at the Circle of Creation that Tuesday night after having invited people to the Circle to meet. It wasn't a super exciting venue, not like the Byzantine had been just a short time before, but there was a reason for that. There was also a reason she didn't have a bunch of bottles of booze out, nor had she set up a DJ station. If people wanted to bring that? All good.

But the tenor of this meeting was meant to be a bit different, at least for a bit. She was taking a page out of Zodiac 's textbook, 'Getting Shit Done: The Mandy Story'. Once they'd hammered out who their representative to the Council was going to be (by hook, crook or Duel Arcane), then she'd bust out what she had in her bag.

That's right.

A bottle of that Patron Silver, to re-arm Star with that which transformed him from an unassuming young Guardian into a superhero. EL PATRON!

But that was for later. She poured a glass of water and waited for the peeps to show up.

This thread is set on September 9, 2014 at 7:00pm. Giving y'all a week or so to narrate your arrival and do a bit of socializing before we begin.

Every superhero needs two things: a great name, and a great ride. Batman. Batmobile. Like that. And so it was with grave conviction and absolute clarity and certainty that The Last Starfighter had named his motorcyle 'Death Blossom'.

Death Blossom alternated between roaring and gagging it's way though the city, eventually fiding the Circle. Strangely? He'd only been here a few times. Seeing that it was still a Really Big Cathedral, he wondered how he'd ever forgotten or worried that he wouldn't be able to find the place.

The bike coughsputtered into silence as he swung his leg over and off. As he maded his way up the steps, he pondered the helmet. It made him look awesome. Much more than the loafers. Unfortunately, the awesome was pretty much proportional to it's proximity to the bike. Admitting this, he pulled it off as he swiped his way in.

"Sup!"

Ok, yes. There was an echo. He totally did not yell at Asp to find that out.

If he learned anything from the last get together, the local Theurges loved to party hard. The I.T.brimos rolled in carrying two twelve-packs of Sam Adam's Octoberfest stacked on top of one another.

The bottles had their own rhythm of noise. Each step heralded his approach well before he entered into the room.

"Hey folks," he called to Asp and Star. "How's it going?"

Weavebreaker did not have to go far for the meeting. Lost somewhere in transition between Cabal Housing and a College Warzone, she was left crashing at the Circle for the time being. Part of her hoped that this would not be another frat party, and with all that had happened, she figured this would be more business-like.

With spells of protection and sight shrouded in her pattern she arrived to the gathering. Weavebreaker held concerns about representation within the Consilium. While this was only one aspect of the Pentacle, there were two Order Heads in the mix, who she favored getting the seat. She figured by already being on the a representative, that it would not enable any the Silver Ladders or the Adamantine Arrows from gaining multiple votes...

If only everyone else played fair...

Asp waved at the group, leaning against the counter. "Hey!" she replied, waving from each to each. She smiled at Ermac. "Not bad. Just thought we should have a very quick chat and get our ducks in a row right quick about who's going to be Counselor. Just waiting on a couple more, then we can hit that topic out of the park, cover off any pending business, and go grab a bite or something. It shouldn't take long at all."

What business did they have, otherwise?

And where was Ixidor?

"How you all doin'?"

Rick did it. To himself. Totally. Now and forever more. Want mashed potatoes with that Roll? All day, baby. Holy cow, everyone was showing up with booze. Was it a BYOB and he missed it?

Were they going to drink in a church?

He found a totally random spot in the middle of the floor to drop his pack and helmet. Next time? If it was here, he was bringing roller skates. The stonee floor was too rugged to sock slide across, but he could probably skate on it. If you can drink beer in a church, you can roller skate in it, yo. That's, like, a rule somewhere.

A hand gave a tentative wave at the other Obrimos. The quiet one.

His whole body flopped into a chair like it was a bean bag and he offered Asp a fist bump.

"Uh. Like, where is everyone? Or is there another meeting somewhere else?"

Because Leo.

"I'm not sure where Leo or Ixidor are," Asp admitted. She looked to Weavebreaker. Did she know where Leo was? "And I don't mind givin' 'em a couple more minutes, but, like, when you call seven for seven thirty..."

The young warrior shrugged. Maybe the two of them were off having a dance-off somewhere or something. Or getting another tattoo. Or maybe Ixidor was schooling Leo.

"I'm gonna get straight to it so we can get to the drinking somewhere other bar-and-grill-like, 'cause I want potato skins."

Asp was always hungry.

"We need a Councilor. And probably a Provost, although that's on the Councilor to pick. We solve that quandry, we're good to go."

Eric chuckled at Jack's remark. "That was a good time." He set down the two packs then took his seat. Aspen detailed what the agenda was. Down to business it was then. Those potatoe skins sounded delicious. "Alright then. Who's in the running right now?"

Ermac knew he had Star's support. Or so he believed. He didn't want to step on the toes of established members of the Consilium before tossing his hat into the ring.

"Do we have any idea who else has been chosen so far?" Weavebreaker glanced to the few who had assembled so far. It was pale in comparison to all who showed last time. Maybe they are still recovering from hangovers...

Asp shook her head at Weavebreaker. "Nope, not yet. Not officially, anyway." She could probably figure that Ariadne would be the Mastigos Counselor, unless Zodiac had pulled a coup and scored herself another title. Acanthus and Thyrsus? Fuck if she knew. "As for who's in the running? I don't know. We Arrow have a thing about being stuck in a politico's seat. It's my job to protect and advise, not to rule. I'm more than happy to sit Provost and help someone, but I don't want to be Counselor."

A Throne is a Warrior's Prison. Did that stand same for Weavebreaker, too? It didn't, not for Leo.

"I know Ixidor and Leo were stepping up at the last meeting, but... neither of them are here."

The young Obrimos scanned the group. She'd heard Star's nomination of Ermac, too. The guy was around, all the time, and didn't seem to be an absolute idiot. She looked at him contemplatively, then to Star.

"You were talking about nominating Ermac here. I'm interested in hearing more about that."
