It takes the trio much more time to catch a cab than the ride itself. Actually, all the Kindred might have a very optimistic view on the traffic in the cities they inhabit: there are no traffic jams in the dead of the night. Ever.

The driver is a twitchy burly man with fingers and teeth yellowed by decades of smoking who just can't stop talking. Apparently, the world is going to shit: his friend got his cab stolen in broad daylight while going on a date. Helped him get the girl. Lost a car.

Thankfully, the chatter isn't overly loud or too long: the drive takes no more than one and a half minute but, still, it's like changing worlds. Ablution's manor is definitely in the better part of town. The cab drops them off at the required corner and Matt the Driver tells to be careful, because the night is full of weirdos and just plain old mean people.

This is the less well-off part of Florin, with dark windows, empty walkways and occasional car passing by quickly with the man behind the wheel hurryin home towards warmth, companionship and away from darkness. A place where many a vampire would feel right at home.

The alleys await a few blocks away from the drop-off.

Edwin smiled as they rode. Listening to a man rant was one of the things that made him stand out from the kine. The anger that floods a man's mind was nothing compared to the Beast inside. It was a petty screech of an alley cat when compared to the constant roar of a lion.

For that was what they were, travelling in this cab. Predators hunting, in this case for answers. For Tenancy.

"Tell me about it, chief," Edwin laughed as he exited the taxi, giving his co-passengers a wink. Once clear, he too flooded his body with Vitae. His lungs worked. His heart beat. He really loathed doing it but needs must. The Law was absolute.

"Let's go do this."

Edwin and Carlos

You spot a bum, sleeping in the alley next to the one you need to get too. The man is fully covered in rags and is quite far from the entrance so it's not your sight that attracted your attention. It's a whiff of body stink and old alcohol carried on a warm summer night wind. The rags rise and fall rhythmically and slowly.

As the group makes their way, they see that many of the alleys on the sides of the street are perfect ambush spots: entrances cluttered by dustbins, battered remains of fences and other debris-like objects. Those can serve to muffle the sounds, the spaces between the buildings are pitch-dark and often just narrow enough to have a fight but not broad enough to run around an assailant - a place where no one in their right mind who has something to lose has any business to be in.

The Kindred arrive at the entrance to the indicated alley, the spot on the map lying beyond a 90-degree turn. Walls of the alley are lined with unidentifiable rubbish but, at least, there's enough space to walk in one line.
