(Under Control) Photography Critique

[Coco]

After the others had departed Coco popped out of her seat and pranced around the table so she could plop into the seat next to Ariadne and peer at the camera in the other woman's hands. The wasp knew absolutely nothing about photography, but the camera had that bulky mechanical look that suggested it was expensive and therefore quite an excellent piece of equipment. Perhaps once they got a clear direction to go on no one would miss the camera if it happened to disappear into her sports bag again.

"So! Shall we start flipping through the pictures? I'm quite eager to see just how intrusive the man's surveillance was. He didn't seem that competent, but then again, he was a corpse when I first met him," Coco said casually, studying the red haired Epopt. Flippancy certainly helped her dispel the memory of touching the man's cold, clammy body on the blood-soaked pavement. It most certainly would. Coco was sure of it.

[Ariadne]

Blue eyes follow the happy not normal person as she plopped down next to Ariadne. The Warlock can't help but smile at the women's behavior. It makes sense now at least, the making sense of you have no idea what you are dealing with.

"Lets. Here's to hoping he wasn't competent like you say." Public places? Sure that's a problem. Sanctums? Hello problems.

Ariadne picks up the camera and powers it on to view the images.

[Coco]

Coco leaned over, craning her neck so she could observe the little screen on the photography device. All the little symbols around the wheel-thing and on the screen seemed awfully complicated. Thankfully Ariadne seemed to know her way around the device. Maybe it wasn't such an attractive little gadget after all.

The first few images didn't really mean anything to the slim wasp. Obviously they were taken inside a strip club, the dancers poles and strange lighting giving a good indication of the locale, but the focus the spy had been using was horrible. Maybe he really was incompetent. Either that or he had had difficulty trying to use his camera discretely on whoever his target was. You couldn't even make out the faces of the pictures subjects! Really, what sort of intel was he trying to gather? Maybe the man also worked as a PI and was doing some silly infidelity cases on the side. Such a poor spy.

Or perhaps not. As Ariadne flipped onto the next set of photos after the stripper-fail, a small noise of surprise sounded in Coco's throat. "Stop there! Let me look at that picture," she demanded, reaching out to grab the camera. The camera's screen now displayed a shot of an art gallery, with an alluring woman who favored pencil skirts as the focus.

Handing over the camera to over eager Cosima Ariadne looks ahead as the other women stares at that photo. Blurs, people sized blurs.

Maybe a mage with forces trying to avoid scrutiny? Maybe something else? Ariadne almost wishes she had spent time reading more books...almost. Then the question that would be awkward if things weren't already awkward.

"..did you see blurry..people..shapes in some of those pictures?" The Warlock asks after a moment. It seems silly but today has been weird.

[Coco]

Yes, she hadn't been deceived. The woman in the photo's was the delectable Aaren Eloi, spontaneous orator extraordinaire. That was troubling, though the discomfort she felt over the dead spy began to fade. There was no if now. He had been a threat to her court and thankfully Neil had helped deal with it. She would help deal with the rest.

"Yes, I did. Terribly, terribly poor focus, there. It's quite surprising, given the level of detail this picture has," Coco said, handing the camera back, composed once again. "I wasn't sure at first, but I do know this woman. I'll need to contact her soon, but first let's keep looking through the pictures until we know everyone who's been spied on. I suspect I'll recognize quite a few more subjects before we're through."

"No no, take a closer look. The photos aren't out of focus. It's only those blurs. Everything else is clear." Ariadne interjects rapidly. Clearly. Quickly. Maybe a hint of panic.

"Some of those photos have my friends in them." Ariadne shakes her head. Friends is any mage...well those of the Consilium...maybe only the Diamond unless Kite and Impact get their shit in line..right now. Regardless. Ariadne takes the camera and cycles through a few more pictures.

"Some of these are people I've known for years. That guy with the scar? The women wearing gloves?"

[Coco]

"Are you sure it's not some kind of camera thing? Or something to do with the lights?" Coco asked doubtfully, peering at the stripper photos again.

That was so strange! The blurs were different shapes and sizes, so it was doubtful it was the same person, but what was causing that? Clearly something besides the photographers skill, now that she looked closer, but she couldn't fathom what it could mean. Oh well! If they were being spied on then the blurs shared the same enemies she did. That was always useful, to some degree or other.

"Well, I don't know those people. Let's keep flipping," the wasp suggested, reaching over and lightly laying her right hand atop Ariadne's so she could angle the camera more fully into her view. Her touch lingered after the camera was tilted for her.
