(Under Control) Appearing Act

Some days you know are going to be one of those days. When you forgot to buy groceries for breakfast, it's already raining, and your DVR turned off in a brownout and you missed your favorite show. Everyone has bad days.

It's still a bad day at the bus stop. It's still raining. Hardly anyone is on the street. Leo's crowded against the back of the bus stop shelter, forced there by the rooster tails of water raised by passing cars. His shoes, and half of his pants are still soaked.

Across the street, a median, and another street, there's another bus stop. It's like looking in a mirror. There's one guy, similarly crowded against the back of it. He looks like he's having one of those days, too.

Then there's someone else. Just... there. He didn't walk to the bus stop, nor did he instantly appear. He simply formed through the back of the shelter like a drop of blood spreading on a napkin. Then there's something long and shiny in his hand. Now that, that just appeared. It's longer than a knife. It disappears again.

Unfortunately, it disappears in Leo's mirror's chest.

Even as far away as he is, Leo can see the man's eyes widen in pain and surprise.

The really weird thing? The assaulter looks like a mime. White face paint, striped shirt, suspenders, the whole thing.

'Fuck you rain.'

The Theurgist looked about the shitty day, silently wondering if West or Dash ever had to put up with this shit. Probably not. They had Fate to always turn everything in their favor. Hell, Dash probably never did an honest days work in his life, but he also probably never had soaked shoes after his awakening.

'Fucker.'

He shook his head and gazed across the street. His head tilted to the side as he saw the mirrored image. It was odd, but then so was the Mime with the sword. He watched as the sword was raised, and in anticipation of what came next he dashed towards the Mime. He didn't know what to do, only that he had to do something.

As Leo steps out into the street to prepare his dash, there's the banshee wail of a horn as a car swerves around him. Because that's what cars do... on streets. They drive on them. A moment is frozen in time as a large woman with her hair in rollers gives him the finger.

He's now completely soaked.

Across the street, the mime has crouched by the fallen man. His face is turned to Leo, and there's a look of surprise on his face. Mime-style surprise. Hands are up with fingers splayed, eyebrows arched like Spock, and lips pursed. He's either really surprised at Leo almost getting hit, and the most expressive person Leo's ever seen, or straight up fucking him.

Leo's going to have to get closer to see.

As he begins dodging the cars, the mime turns back towards the fallen man, rifling through his pockets.

Then there's that nagging feeling Leo's getting that he's missing something.

Init isn't necessary because Leo is going to have to dodge traffic to get there -- estimate 5 turns*/15 seconds if moving at full SPD/running.

Leo weaves through traffic as he slowly makes his way over to the mime. He wanted to keep his eyes on the bastard, but the oncoming traffic and the feeling he forgot something had him watching the rest of his surroundings. Honestly, the only thing that could make this day suck more than a murderous mime is being murdered by a second murderous mime.

Or more mocking from the fucker. Sarcastic mime was higher on the insult list then death by car.

As Leo does a great impression of a human Frogger across the street, he realizes something. He just watched a man appear, then a sword appear, and there was no Resonance from spellcraft. Nor did his Unseen Senses trigger.

Pondering this, he reaches the median.

The mime's kept an eye on him, and the median is a great progress marker. Stuffing something, or somethings, in his pockets, he gives Leo a jaunty wave, and skips away.

First the surprise face, now the skipping instead of running. Leo's definitely being fucked with.

Normally celestial fire was Leo's go to choice when someone tried to pull this shit with him, but stopping in the street to break the veil didn't seem like the best coarse of action. Instead, once free of the oncoming traffic, Leo took the chance to scrutinize the mime. Knowing what it was would help identify why his senses didn't trigger. Of coarse if he was proficient in Prime like Leo suspected, he could well be wearing someone else's resonance. If that were the case Leo might just have to go back to celestial fire.

Leo gives a good hard stare. Nothing​. Just a guy, dressed like a mime, skipping away.

Leo knew almost for certain now. The mime was proficient in Prime or worked for a Space Master who was proficient in Prime. It was the only explanation for not triggering his Unseen Senses or registering as a mage.

That or the mime was a lie.

Leo continued bobbing through traffic until finally making his way to the man who was stabbed. He kneels down and places his hand on the stab wound, reaching out to the Aether to heal the man's wound. He swiftly pulls his handkerchief out of his pocket and wipes his bloody hand off before sliding the handkerchief back into his pocket and hopefully out of the rain.

Roll and OOC

-1 Mana for Healing Heart to heal the stabbed guy for 4 Lethal. He placed his hand directly on the stab wound for 2 reasons, 1 to check if the knife is really gone, and 2 to get some blood for later scrying. Not plot related scrying, but check up to make sure he's alive scrying.

Leo also took a good look at the mime, so I'd like to ask if the mime is wearing make up? If so, how is it looking, considering we're in the rain?

Leo's pretty sure a spell isn't going to help this man*.

He's turned on his side, from his coat being rifled through. It's one of those beige trench coats with buckles and flaps. Dollars to donuts it says 'London Fog' on the liner. Turning him onto a back, the body rolls over easily. There's no resistance from involuntary muscles, and piercing eyes stare up at Leo lifelessly.

A dark shirt is made darker by a small, spreading stain nearly centered on his chest. It's this that Leo feels and pats with his handkerchief, and sees the small small tear and entry wound.

From what he saw of the mime, the makeup was intact. Partially protected by the bowler hat he wore, perhaps an oil based face paint.

No charge on the spell, Leo can ascertain that the man is dead and Healing Heart won't help.

"Oh My God! I saw it!" Coco yelled as she came running up the sidewalk, her workout clothes soaked and her gym bag bobbing wildly behind her. "I saw the mime mug that guy! Is he okay? Can you help him!?" She dodged around any other bystanders brave enough to stay and gawk and dropped to her knees next to Leo. He eyes went wide as she took in the lifeless eyes and the blood mixing with the rain on the pavement.

"Oh my god, ohmygod! He's dead! We have to call the police! Fuck! Where's my phone?!" she yelled, frantically patting at her pockets before tearing into her bag. Spare clothing went flying as she went madly rifling through the bag, some of it landing on the dead guy.

"Shit!" She yelled, scrabbling to get her things off of the corpse.*

Coco is trying to pickpocket whatever is left on the corpse, using her own clothing as a cover. Also, trying to appear like a frantic, shrieking witness!
