Lenny was not thrilled. Getting stuck with a last minute all-nighter was irritating as all hell especially given he had just bought the hotel. Fortunately he could have staff work through the day. The only real consolation is that he actually LIKED doing things like this, although he would never admit it.

Concentrating on a single wall, he and the nightly maintenance crew transformed it. Lush blue crushed velvet curtains were gathered and affixed along one wall, and white roses were affixed at intervals near the top. Stars. Fans were situated behind the curtains and directed upward to ripple the fabric.

The maintenance crew used hand and power tools to create a plywood skyline of Venice and painted matte black.

During this time he coordinated with the others for music, as well as having chairs positioned to form a large aisle for dancing.

During the day, work crews would duplicate the effect along the other walls, as well as constructing a faux bridge along one wall -- for the Prince and his Court to speak from or simply observe.

Lenny scratched at his beard as he watched and gave final instructions. Already he was feeling sluggish with the impending dawn so near. He would need to Rise early, too, to check on the work and take care of any last minute details.

Satisfied he left knowing he had done his part.
