It was a beautiful sunny day in Sacramento. For a midwinter day, it wasn't half bad. Of course, this was all point of view. 50F weather could be cold for some people. Nor would it stop others from paying a visit to the local main Trod in the Freehold. There weren’t many people around the gate area, which seemed to be overlooked by most today. It was way too nice to linger anywhere for most visitors.

Off a little ways from the gate, there were a bunch of kids and a few adults looking down over something. From first glance, they may have been playing a game of marbles or whatever. Or they were pondering something that someone found. Maybe someone was having story hour. The possibilities were endless on such a beautiful day!

The Gate

Tally arrives at the Gate, looking about her as she waits for the others to arrive. Her backpack gets hitched up as she finds a spot of Shadow to stand in. Her shirt sports a large picture of a wolf while her ball cap sports an image of a canine paw print. She keeps her ears peeled for the barks of a dog along with her eyes as she could then activate a certain contract.

Vincent strolled carefully through the park, his dark eyes roving back and forth over the unfamiliar place. A gloved hand remained in one of the deep pockets of his duffel coat as he walked, and his fingers fiddled with the corner of one of his maps as though the item were a comfort blanket. Despite the constant need to reassure himself that he had found a good place in Sacramento, at the moment he did genuinely feel an air of relaxation. He had come prepared to have an explore, and with other people this time.

Socialising was a good thing, the Wizened reminded himself.

Vincent raised his free hand in greeting to Tally, as he neared the woman. His attention briefly slipped to the adults and children watching something, and a small slither of interest was piqued. For the moment however, he simply nodded to the Beast.

"Hello again," he remarked with a little smile.

Today's morning jog, in black sweats to fend off the cold, took her past Capitol Park. Ion catches sight of a couple of familiar faces, as well as the herd of children being wrangled by a couple of adults. Ion bites her lip for a moment, a bit curious as to what the others are up to as she drops her pace to a brisk walk to head over to the Gate. Ion makes it a point to pass by the group of children as she heads over to Vincent and Tally, so she can sate her curiosity on all fronts.

As Ion passes by the group, she removes the ear buds from her hear, letting them fall and hangout from the front of her hoodie. She casts a quick glance, continuing past until she is upon the other two.

A curious look traces her face as she looks between Tally and Vincent. "What's up?"

As Ion came up behind Tally and himself, the winter Wizened half-turned to take a quick look at the unfamiliar woman. Noticing her summer mantle, he was a little bit relieved it did not mark her out as one of the powerful and intimidating Lost. It was not a nice sensation to feel like the weakest or most inferior of a group of people.

His smile was brief but friendly enough, and he simply raised his gloved hand in greeting as opposed to reaching out automatically for a handshake.

On first being discovered after escaping Arcadia, and meeting brand new - and mostly sane - faces, his had committed a bit of a faux pas in automatically taking a woman's hand to kiss the back of her hand. It had been the correct etiquette before he was kidnapped to the labyrinth. Not so these days. Fortunately the Changeling in question had thought it a charming throwback of a socially inept newcomer. Needless to say, Vincent had not erred in the same way again.

He had found it much better to keep his hands quite firmly to himself.

"Oh ahh, nothing much. I just arrived myself actually."

Vincent continues wandering around Sacremento, not even sure of where he would spend the night this time. He had his duffel bag slumped over his shoulder with all the things he usually carried. Catching his eye were a group of changelings, including one he had been introduced to when he first arrived. He decided to be social and walked over to Ion and the group. The word Hi written on the notepad he held in front of him.

Tally greets Vincent with a smile and a nod. "Nice to see you as well." She says warmly to the Winter Courtier.

Looking at Ion, she recalls seeing her from Rook's physical class. "Well, I'll hazard a guess and say a expedition. I'm Tally by the way." She says as way of introduction as she doesn't recall any introductions between them.

She blinks at the incoming Elemental and greets him upon reading his notepad, "Hello. I'm Tally." She is a bit confused as to why he wrote down his greeting but guesses that it'll be explained soon enough.

When Ion walked past the group, she distinctly heard a few people saying. "I wonder what happened to it."
