Beneath the shadow of the expressway on 8th & W there is a overwhelming amount stands selling fruits, vegetables, and other products. The volume of people, moving between the stalls is staggering to those who have never been to this affair. Open until noon, when most started to pack up their wares, there was still plenty of time to satisfy curiosity.
Weavebreaker walked along the paths, taking in the sights, sounds and smells. She paused beneath a purple tent, looking at the various herbs and recognizing the potent smell of rosemary. With a gentile touch, she ran her fingertips along the tiny foliage. She drew in a deep breath of the herb and glanced over some of the other herbs that the vendor had for sale.
College was starting up soon, and the funds of a college student were lacking. Weavebreaker was not one to live off of pizza and ramen noddles and knew from her time in Savannah that farmer's markets just like this were an excellent place to find great deals for good food. The key was not to shop on a empty stomach and purchase foods that could last for a bit of time, like apples.
That, and keep roommates away...
Weavebreaker shrugged the thought away, as she still had yet to really meet or know any of her roommates because of the Holiday break. She reached into her pocket, pulling out a wadded up dollar as she lifted a small container of mint from the table. She handed it over to the old, heavyset man who was tending the herbs. "Here ya go..."
With her first purchase of the day down, she meandered along slowly. Her eyes drifting from side to side wondering what else would be good to make her new home feel like home, or for a good wholesome meal...
