Sunday Farmer's Market

[Weavebreaker]

Beneath the shadow of the expressway on 8th & W there is a overwhelming amount stands selling fruits, vegetables, and other products. The volume of people, moving between the stalls is staggering to those who have never been to this affair. Open until noon, when most started to pack up their wares, there was still plenty of time to satisfy curiosity.

Weavebreaker walked along the paths, taking in the sights, sounds and smells. She paused beneath a purple tent, looking at the various herbs and recognizing the potent smell of rosemary. With a gentile touch, she ran her fingertips along the tiny foliage. She drew in a deep breath of the herb and glanced over some of the other herbs that the vendor had for sale.

College was starting up soon, and the funds of a college student were lacking. Weavebreaker was not one to live off of pizza and ramen noddles and knew from her time in Savannah that farmer's markets just like this were an excellent place to find great deals for good food. The key was not to shop on a empty stomach and purchase foods that could last for a bit of time, like apples.

That, and keep roommates away...

Weavebreaker shrugged the thought away, as she still had yet to really meet or know any of her roommates because of the Holiday break. She reached into her pocket, pulling out a wadded up dollar as she lifted a small container of mint from the table. She handed it over to the old, heavyset man who was tending the herbs. "Here ya go..."

With her first purchase of the day down, she meandered along slowly. Her eyes drifting from side to side wondering what else would be good to make her new home feel like home, or for a good wholesome meal...

[Vae]

It was always something of a chore to figure out exactly what she would need when company was going to come over. But then, it didn’t happen often enough for her to really worry.

It wasn’t like she was about to get sick of canned food anytime soon. It was the guests she was wondering about.

She was sifting through sweet potatoes and various salad greens.

“This would be so much easier if I knew what they liked...” She said as she paid for a head of broccoli -- It wasn’t her favourite but she’d eat it.

“Maybe instead of me cooking we could do a group cook thing....” She was mumbling mostly to herself when she noticed the blond foster wandering around.

“Well, what’da know.” She said before rerouting to pass the other Arrow.

[Ariadne]

Casual clothes today, better to blend in. Also the suit gets stuffy and to a farmer's market? Sheeze who do you think Ariadne is? Ariadne stops to buy some fresh oregano before continuing down the rows. Blue eyes scan for something for Pixel. Has to be organic.

Looking around Ariadne sees Vaeltia and another mage she recognizes from Consilium. Shopping for cat can wait. Sadly no longer a kitten but still determined to leave hairs everywhere. Shifting her meandering Ariadne aims herself towards the two other mages.

[Uncarved]

Uncarved wanders through the market, canvas bag bumping along at his side. He stops intermittently to investigate the fruit and vegetables on offer; buys sparingly. This is his first venture to the market but he can see himself becoming a regular. Fresh food and a pleasant morning out, among simple folk. The monk is waring a slight smile upon his face.

He stops, leaning against a pillar and letting the flow of people wash over and around him. At times it pays to be still, to be at rest, and to observe. He spies the woman -Ariadne. The Epopt?- moving purposefully through the crowd. For a moment, Uncarved dithers but decides that making more contacts is the prudent course right now: he is still largely unknown in the Consilium and the last meeting did not reveal as much as he hoped. He remembers this Ariadne from the closed meeting, and so he sets out to intercept and possibly open conversation.

As he pushes into the flowing crowd, he notices there are is another mage at the market: she was also at the meeting, he recalls. By the look of things, it shall transpire that they shall all meet.

Lost in the crowd, the monk makes a quiet grunt of satisfaction.

[Weavebreaker]

A smirk forms on her face seeing Vae. She gives a helpless shrug, holding up her mint she had just bought. "What can I say?..."

"Was searching online for things to do in Sacramento the other day and came across this place. I have to say, though, it is a lot more then I expected it to be." She glanced around at the various tables and tents setup. The sheer volume of people and produce felt staggering...

"What are you shopping for today?"

[Ariadne]

Ariadne walks up to the two arrows with a smile. "Morning."

"Either of you two know if they sell catnip here?"

[Weavebreaker]

"With the scale of the place I would say that there probably is someone selling some..." Weavebreaker glanced around the market for a moment. "...But with the scale of the place would be hard to say just where..." She gave a slight shrug.

"Pretty common herb, though, so there are probably multiple vendors."

[Vae]

Vaeltia raised the bag with the broccoli.

“World’s most feared vegetable, aside from Brussel sprouts, of course. I was planning on inviting you, Sam, Leo, and maybe West over for dinner sometime.” She turned to the approaching Guardian.

“Catnip?”

Flora really wasn’t her speciality, cooking didn’t rate too high either

“I think there was a vendor a bit further down, I couldn’t say for sure though. What are you doing, looking for kitty-crack?”

[Ariadne]

Kitty-crack gets a laugh out of Ariadne. "It's mostly a way to get my cat to go where I want her too. Some days she thinks she gets the bed." The red head shrugs. "I don't get cats. I mean I love her dearly but the behaviors."

"It's hard not to cheat some days."

[Weavebreaker]

Weavebreaker shook her head with a smirk over that funny exchange.

"They seem to run the gambit as far as personality goes..." Weavebreaker considered dogs and cats very similar, as in the end they ultimately did what ever the hell they wanted to do.

"I remember my mom was always bringing home strays to take care of..."

"...I think because of that I have had enough pets for a life time..." She said with a smirk.

Weavebreaker glanced back to Vae, wondering what she could bring to a dinner. The South seems to have the fried thing down, she considers as she runs through a list of possible things to fry up. Then there is always sweet-tea...

Weavebreaker snapped out of thoughts of food and shook her head. "I apologize, I never introduced myself." She shifted the mint plant to her left hand and held out her right for Ariadne. "I am Anna."
