Hedge Adventuring!

It was a sunny afternoon at Capitol Park, the kind of afternoon when people come out to have a nice picnic, or take their dogs for a walk. For some it was a perfect day to take a break, walk down the park and relax for a bit. For others, it was the ideal opportunity to walk down to the park which held the main Trod known to the Sacramento Freehold, and perhaps take a trip into the local Hedge.

There were a few people walking their dogs around the place, and a family setting up for a nice outdoors meal in one of the picnic tables in the park. However, the known Hedge Gate seemed to be left alone for now, with the majority of the people focused on their own activities in other areas of the park.

Tally had gathered up dry food, about half a dozen unopened bottles of water, two aluminum bottles filled with water each snapped to her jean belt loops, medical supplies, two garbage bags, her share of the loot from the previous Ash Run, a lighter, spare shirt and jeans, and three knives of different sizes. Her cloths were on the old side but were very comfortable. Jeans with a gray tie-dye shirt without any image upon it and a jean vest over the shirt. In the vest pockets is a pair of sunglasses, a small flash light, a pen and note pad. She is also wearing what was once known as a ball cap, it's now just called a cap. The cap is just black in color and with a stitched image of a wolf's paw that's outlined in gray.

Once she triple checks to make sure she has everything packed, she shoulders the pack, she had spoken with her Boss, Tobias, about having the rest of the day off and if she doesn't arrive for her shift tomorrow, that one as well. She is sure to snap the belly buckle as well. With it all done, she heads for the meeting point. She does take the bus to get to the park.

Upon finding the Hedge Gate, she takes off her knapsack and waits for the others to arrive in their due time.

As the Harvest Envoy arrived, she was in a great mood. The sun was shining but the world was slowly changing as the Summer gave way to Autumn's inevitable steps.

All in all, this was her time, Terri's moment to come up trumps.

Dressed in her more utilitarian attire, dark pants and a hoody covering her kevlar vest that Rick insisted she wore, and a brown backpack holding all her necessities (slingshot, wooden bearings, first aid kit, water and rations), Terri waled through Capitol Park carrying a long, slime shape in hand that was wrapped in an orange sheet.

Spotting Tally, Terri smiled and waved as she approached. "Hey Tally, how're you?" she asked warmly before adding, "All ready?"

"Hey Terri and I believe so." Tally replies to Terri with a smile. "Nice day for an adventure, isn't it?"

Clare walked purposefully in her comfortable jeans, sturdy work work boots, and t-shirt. Her much-abused leather jacket slung over her arm with her gun tucked into a pocket, and seven thin pieces of scrap metal tucked into a number of her pockets. She also had a good-sized water bottle with her; being a Summer Courtier didn't give her a free pass on keeping hydrated.

The Ogress was grinning, clearly excited for the trip into the hedge, as she joined the others already at the gate. "Hey Terri, Tally!" Clare didn't recognize the third, but gave him a nod. "I'm Clare Green, nice to meet you Mister...?"

A jogger passed the group of Lost, not paying them much attention. However, a woman walking her dog a few yards away seemed to notice the group. She appeared to be a little curious as to what they were doing, unsure of why a group of campers would be standing around the monument with all their gear. After all, Capitol Park wasn't exactly known to be a camping site...

As she came a little closer, she tried to act like she wasn't paying much attention to them, but her Labrador had a different idea in mind. The dog began to bark and pull on its leash as soon as it noticed the group, pulling its owner along towards the group of Changelings. Upon reaching them, the dog began to wag its tail and bark at Tally, trying to get the Hunterheart's attention.

"I'm sorry," said the woman to the Lost. "Sometimes Jasper likes to lead me instead of the other way around." She let out a soft laugh and offered them a smile. "He is rather friendly though, so you don't have to worry," she added, glancing over at Tally.

"While I can't speak for Terri, I know I am ready." Tally says to Dismas, noding her head as a greeting. Then Clare comes over, greeting both Terri and herself before inquiring as to Dismas' name. "Good to see you as well, Clare."

Another Changling approaches, an Elemental looking Changeling who is very imposing. "Hello, sir. I'm Tally Benoit." She says as way of introduction.

At the barking of the dog, the Hunterheart turns and finds a Labrador wagging his tail while barking. She moves over to touch Jasper, her thoughts are, Might as well make use of this.

Crouching down, she begins to scratch behind his ears. "Good boy." She says softly.

"Hello, there," Terri says to the Wizened who she didn't know, smiling to him in her friendly way before it grew to a grin as firstly Claire and then Serreth joined them. "Oh, I'm good, thanks. Can't wait for the hiking trip."

As the woman came over with the dog, Terri grew, well, not wary, but a little concerned. hey still had to get through the gate without anyone noticing five people suddenly vanishing. In other words, they needed to get the woman away. For now, though, Terri continued to smile.
