Sin follwoed Matthew, trying to pierce the darkness with his own gifts. When that failed, he circled around the den, looking for another exit.
As Firebringer slinks forwards, he sees easily through the darkness into the den beneath the roots. The Fox Spirit is laid low, its teeth bared, its bushy tail held high. It makes no noise, but it is staring at the Uratha approaching its home intently.
The roots are very tight.
It's Dex + Athletics -3 to squeeze through the roots in Urhan form. A failure will result in your character getting stuck. Additionally, only one may fit through at once.

Firebringer mentally projects a triumphant howl, before realizing that there is no link, no one to hear. It felt strange, hunting without his pack at his side.
Perhaps, had it been his own pack, he would have realized how far the others were out of position.
Without a second thought, he wriggles through the roots, flashing sharp canines at his prey. Unfortunately, overconfidence takes its toll, and the brave Cahalith quickly finds himself ensnared in the roots.
The fox was notorious for it's cunning, and the situation in which Firebringer found himself was a potent, but unfortunate reminder of that. But it was a challenge that was wanted, and a challenge that was had. As she saw Firebringer struggle in the roots of the spirit's den, Nori leaped into action and barked a quick <<Help!>> at Sin. Her first thought was to go and yank Firebringer out by the scruff of his neck... which was buried deep inside the fox's den at this point.
No...
Instead, Nori chose to attack the roots, digging furiously, biting, and tearing away at the base of the tree in order to free her fellow Uratha before things got ugly. Though this spirit was that of a prey animal, it was cornered. Even prey becomes dangerous when put in a corner - and more often then not, very dangerous.
OOC:
Nori can roll Strength + Athletics -2 to start widening the hole - each roll represents five minutes of digging.
The Fox Spirit sees Firebringer stuck in the hole, and its eyes widen. It careens backwards and collapses, attempting to feign helplessness.
But rather than deceptively exploding into motes and escaping, the fox just falls over.

Matthew snarls, body exploding outward into the mighty Urshul. He had no intention of remaining there like some animal caught in a trap while the prey lay mere feet from them. He forces back a whimper at the painful constriction, but surely at least some of the material would have to give way to accomodate the increased bulk.
Almost immediately, the Cahalith drops back into the more natural Urhan form, attempting to pull himself through the hopefully-widened opening.

Matthew strains and wriggles, and he feels his ribs cracking as he can't physically twist out of the hole. But the earth and roots around him give, and as he transforms back in a flash, he feels himself freer.
Nori's digging sends a brief shower of dirt, but she doesn't really get far before Matthew's freed himself with his own movements.
Nori only gets to roll her first pool, as Matthew frees himself in a few seconds, so she's only at -1 WP. Matthew has made the hole big enough that anyone in Urhan can get through it by taking an action. And with that, I think it's time for initiative!
Sin was about to join Nori in digging oiut Matthew, but his transformation's rendered that moot.
