The van pulls up to the back entrance to the Four Seasons. Duncan kills off the engine and steps down to help carry the injured inside. Mr. Bates is already waiting by the back door, where no other employees can be seen at the moment. The Wizened has a look of concern on his face, obviously distraught by the news he had been given over the phone. Swilla jumps out of the van as well, ready to help in any way he can.

"Let's get them inside quickly," says Duncan as he slides open the doors to the van. "We'll be using the service elevator to get them to a suite in the top floor."

"Clare Bring the bag." Spartan says as he climbs out of the van, his Squire in his arms.

"Mr. Bates, bring a garbage bag and a zip lock bag." Spartan says as he carries Justin past the Drudge. Once into the elevator Spartan leans against the wall for a moment, just a second of reprieve before standing up again.

"Yes, sir." She slung the bag of her shoulder, making sure everything was tucked away so nothing fell out (like the Head. The Head would be the worst). Wounds from the shot pellets were starting to itch, but the Ogress mostly managed to keep her hands away by imagining how grow it would be to catch one of her finger in an opening. That had the side effect of making her slightly nauseous, but at least she wasn't scratching at scabs as she followed King Spartan.

Rook lifted Anya as if she was made of glass. If he had any awareness of the violent burns covering his forearms, he didn't show it. But he found it easy to forget things like pain. They weren't of particular importance, and metal could endure things that would have driven an ordinary man mad.

Later, when he remembered he needed to hurt, he would burn, but for now the memory of the fire was nothing but a staccato damage report.

He didn't sway. In a very real sense, a lot of him wasn't there at all, just locked away inside the steel cage that boiled like a pressure cooker inside of him.

Never let anything out. Never show when it hurts. Never bend. Never flinch. Never fall back.

Not the creedo of a chesspiece, but the creedo of a man who had his pride.

All of it rode over the one, simple fact that he was trying to block out.

It should have been me instead of her taking that hit.

The good doctor pulls up in front of the hotel and parks in his usual spot. Carrying a large leather garment bag, he sends a brief text as he quickly makes his way to the front desk and asks to speak to the hotel manager.

Mr. Bates gives Spartan a nod and then leads them inside towards the elevator. "Take that elevator to the top floor. I'll meet you there with the items you have requested," says the Wizened in a polite tone, gesturing to the service elevator with one hand. He then turns away and walks down a hallway at a swift pace.

Once they are all inside the elevator, Duncan hits the button to the top floor. The ride isn't very long, but it seems to take longer than it actually does under the current circumstances. As the doors slide open, the ice Elemental steps out and leads the group down a hallway until they reach the room. He opens the door and motions them all inside.

"Put them down on the beds," he says as he steps to the side. "I'll keep an eye out here just in case." After all, no one wants an unsuspecting guest to wander down the hall and find them there.

There are two double beds inside the room, which have been covered in plastic for the occasion. The rest of the furniture one would typically find in a hotel room has been moved elsewhere, leaving behind the two beds and a night table between them. A dozen of water bottles lie on the table, along with a first-aid kit. It isn't anything too fancy, just the typical kit one would find in a hotel.

Rook laid Anya down on one of the plastic covered beds with the sort of care that was typically given by a jeweller to his creations. Almost automatically, without realising he'd done it, he brushed her wild mane of hair aside with his fingers, so that it wasn't lying over face.

She tended to tuck it back behind her ear if it did.

Then he stepped back, his expression blank and unmoving as he forced himself to cope.

Spartan follows suit, setting his squire on the bed. One that is done he makes his way over to the mini bar. Cracks it open, grabs a bottle of whatever it is in there and drinks it down.

With that done The King makes his way to Clare and takes the bag. "Where's the Doc?" Spartan looks to Rook but says nothing, seeing the man's sadness, so he leaves him be.

With the duffle in his hand he makes his way to the bathroom. Setting the bag in the bathtub he slides the weapons out, laying each weapon out one at a time. The hoplite begins cleaning each of the weapons, not caring about his own wounds. Its some kind of meditation, or a ritual or something religious.

Clare glance at her phone to check the text - "Doctor Jack's in the Lobby, I'll tell him the room number." She quickly taps out the info and sends it to him.

After reading Clare's text, Jack withdraws his request to speak to Mr. Bates and excuses himself. Taking the lobby elevator up to the appropriate floor, he greets Duncan with a grim smile before rapping his knuckles on the door and entering the room.

    "Oh, shit..."

After a brief exhalation, the good doctor waves the others out of his way and gets to work. Pushing asides the first aid kit, Jack unzips his garment bag and reveals a rather impressive assortment of medical supplies. He begins to examine each of his patients by checking their vital signs and the exact nature of their wounds.

    "What happened to them?"
