    Open Hungry Streets Thread

Ever been to one of those seedy hole-in-the-wall bars around town. If not, you may be in luck. Don’t expect anything fancy here. Don’t expect to be treated like royalty. It is what it is and what it is may be necessity while you’re in South Sacramento. Trax is owned by Vorigan a rather eccentric British guy. He’s pretty familiar with this side of town. You might learn a thing or two if you can get past his eyes. There may be a pool table, juke box, dart board and a really big vase in the back corner of the bar. Need a drink, or perhaps something... stronger, this is the place to stop.

Sebastian was early, again. Perhaps it was for the amazing company. Or perhaps he simply had no life. Whatever the case, the Mekhet entered the dive-bar, and winced instantly as his Beast cowered before the might of the Lord.

Gritting his teeth, he marched over to the same seat he had taken last time, sitting down and glancing up at his host for the evening.

    "Hey Vorigan, hows business?"

Brad sauntered in, almost missing the quiet Mekhet. He was looking pleased with himself.

This was mostly because he'd just won $10 on a scratchcard, but fuck if he was going to tell other people that. Brad wasn't generally very lucky, so $10 up on a $1 card pretty much made his day.

The fact that he was, on some level, aware that this was a pretty sad thing to be happy about just meant that he was gonna look happy and not tell anyone why.

"Oh... hey Seb, how's it going? Hi Vorigan. Nice night?" he sauntered over to the juke box and started flipping through songs, humming to himself.

Seth drove up to the bar and put his old ford pick-up truck in park. It was a present from his parents when he turned 16, even modified a little to suit his size. He looks first to his left, then to his right. He'd never been in this bar before and honestly, he had no idea how he even found it or why he wanted to go in.

Guess you have nothing better to do.

He switch off the lights and turned off the rock station playing on the radio. He started to examine the bar through his windshield, squinting his eyes a little.

Doesn't look too bad. Who knows, maybe you'll find somebody worth talking to in there.

He opened the door and hopped out of the old red ranger, slamming the door behind him. He stretched a little, having only recently woken up. It didn't look too packed judging by the parking lot. He puts his keys in his right pocket and makes sure his phone is in his left. Always. He walks up to the door and opens it up. The 4'5" gangrel's Beast immediately started throwing a fit. It took him a second to count the vampires here, and he took special note of the bartender who seemed to be the most powerful of them all. His eyes flashed wide and his muscles tensed.

He closed his eyes. The only thoughts in his head were growls and roars. Seth. His nostrils flare and he takes a deep breath, beginning to calm himself. He opens his eyes again as his muscles relax slightly but he's still on guard. There's a big knife, compared to him, at his waist that looks almost a foot long. Other than that no apparent weapons. He blinks, his face relaxing as well now. He steps inside and shuts the door behind him.

"Evening." He gives him a half-smile and begins to walk toward the bar.

Vorigan, as always, looked like he wasn’t in the mood for well, anything. He’d been sitting on a stool at the corner of the bar. Two dogs laid on the floor not far from him. One dog having a particularly strong beast within. Both animals raised their heads as old and new vampires entered.

“Good evening.” Nodding to Brad and Sebastian as he speaks in his thick English accent. His two different colored eyes moved to the new beast that entered quirking his brow and sitting up slightly. “Welcome to Trax.”

There were no humans in the bar so far that evening. The smoking man’s beast was slightly stronger than those around him were and his eyes waited for an answer from the new beast.

    "Thanks. I've heard about you."

Seth looked at the other two, a slight cringe rolling down his spine. He puts his hand to his beard. He smiles at the bartender.

He looks outrageous. Oh like you should be talking. Do you even know why you're here?

"Seth. My name is Seth by the way. I don't expect you to have heard about me. You see word only travels about the important, the well-known. I just got here. I like the place though, you do a really good job with it."

Seth looks around. His brow is down but he doesn't look angry. That's just his natural face when he isn't going out of his way to look more... chipper. He took another slow step towards the bar, taking his sweet time to get there.

So far so good eh? At least nobody's attacked you yet. Three of them. One is more powerful. Can't be by much or else he wouldn't be here.

Seth isn't exactly a master at hiding his thoughts. He's smiling but he's also on edge. His eyes are darting as he gauges the threats. his hands are outside of his pockets but drumming on his thigh. He's walking slowly. He bites his lip a little as he looks around 'nonchalantly'. After a couple seconds he got to the bar and hopped (literally) onto a stool. He smiles again and looks between faces.

    "Sup?"

"Yeah not too bad, Brad, yourself?" replied the Mekhet nonchalantly. He was feeling slightly more talkative tonight, nobody had run him out of town yet, or dragged him before anybody particular important. Fingers-crossed, and that luck might even get him another month out of this domain before the pitchforks came out.

He was trying, really really hard to avoid looking at the strange dog on the floor. There was only one last time he was out this way, and it certainly didn't feel as dangerous as this one did. The animal within was whimpering near the back of its own cage, and that was never a good sign. Still, it managed to crawl forward and give a cursory growl as a new Beast entered Trax.

Don't look at the dog, Don't look at the dog, Don't look at the dog, Don't look at the dog, Don't look at the dog...Awww shit, you just had to take a look at the bloody dog didn't you...

Trying to take his mind off the four-legged Beast, he turned and watched as the Dwarf meandered over towards the bar. He remained silent until the fellow hoped up onto the stool and spoke again.

    "Not much at all, yourself?"

The Mekhet preferred to keep the conversation on topics other than himself. It was always better to listen than to speak.

"Prrretty awesome," Brad said, rolling the 'r' without meaning to at the sudden new Beast that entered. He grimaced and turned his head, feeling the antsy thing inside him wanting to kick someone's ass. The Daeva assumed it was because Vorigan still scared the shit out of it.

'Course, Vorigan scared the shit out of him, too.

"Hi new guy. I'm Brad, this is Sebastian."

Brad didn't give a shit how tall the guy was, either. It wasn't like being bitten by a vampire only happened to glamour models.

“Interesting, Seth.” The Lord’s eyebrow raised. “And what did you hear?” The tall Ventrue looked downwards… across the bar to the vertically challenged individual.

“Awesome Brad?” Vorigan’s lips curled into a slightly creepy smile. One that most people use to hit on another, yet it looked someone odd on the thing Lord’s face. Perhaps it was his slightly exposed fangs. “And just why are you so ‘awesome’?” He repeated in the same town.

I could certainly make his night more...awesome.

He swiveled a little on the stool. He was drawing attention but he was somewhat used to that. Or maybe these little creatures of the night were more friendly than others he's met.

"Oh I'm never too bad. I'm surviving. And that says a lot in this night and age doesn't it?"

Seth gave Brad a little bit of a smile to punctuate his dry humor. He looked Sebastian up and down too and then gave him a nod of acknowledgement before turning back to Vorigan.

"Heard you're a man that I want to make friends with, or at least not make enemies. But more important than that..."

    Seth grinned at him.

"Is that I hear you're an amusing man to be around. You do own this place right? And what about you two? Friendly neighborhood patrons or do you... work here eh?"

Seth's fingers were drumming the bar top inadvertently. He wasn't being confrontational really, but it was obvious that these weren't really his main questions. Small talk mostly. He also keeps looking toward the alcohol lined up behind this tall Brit. Or Australian, Seth couldn't tell the difference. His other hand was rubbing his facial hair a little bit as well. Not really a nervous man, but also not the most comfortable person in the world either. He didn't like first meetings.
