The mish-mash of titles made Asa inwardly cringe -- if Lioni were here, he could imagine her reaction. It didn't annoy him enough to make corrections, mainly because he wasn't in the mood to be pedantic, but it was enough to make a mental note to speak to the Au Pair at some point.
He gave each a nod as they spoke, laced with approval and encouragement, and listened as the Meister spoke.
"Meister, if I may?" he asked, after Conner Greyson had finished.
"These are excellent goals, and traditionally protection has been the bailiwick of the Knights. Obviously there are none -- and have not been any for some time, as I recall -- but that isn't to say there won't be. That being said, is it your intent to produce Knights, and if not, will there be an issue of overlapping responsibilities in the future, should we see any new Knights?"
Responsibility was a polite word; among the Invictus, toe-stepping could get messy, fast.
