Meeting of the Guild of Combat Arts

[Asa]

The mish-mash of titles made Asa inwardly cringe -- if Lioni were here, he could imagine her reaction. It didn't annoy him enough to make corrections, mainly because he wasn't in the mood to be pedantic, but it was enough to make a mental note to speak to the Au Pair at some point.

He gave each a nod as they spoke, laced with approval and encouragement, and listened as the Meister spoke.

"Meister, if I may?" he asked, after Conner Greyson had finished.

"These are excellent goals, and traditionally protection has been the bailiwick of the Knights. Obviously there are none -- and have not been any for some time, as I recall -- but that isn't to say there won't be. That being said, is it your intent to produce Knights, and if not, will there be an issue of overlapping responsibilities in the future, should we see any new Knights?"

Responsibility was a polite word; among the Invictus, toe-stepping could get messy, fast.

[Asa]

Given Conner's penchant for the direct, the political non-answer slightly surprised Asa -- but he didn't let it show.

With a nod, he gestured for the Mekhet to continue his inaugural address.

[Twist]

Twist had had every intention of being at the guild meeting on time... It was even being held at her theater. But after insuring that her staff was cleared out from the area, she had slipped away to change and then found herself heading not directly to the meeting but rather to one of the catwalks that spanned the roof of the theater.

Settling in she had planned to watch the arrival of only a few before slipping down and joining proper, but before she knew it they had all arrived save her.

Still she delayed. What ever reason she had for not moving from her vantage point though would remain hers as it was without a word that she finally shifted and came to herself. And then it was with haste that she left the catwalk and made her way to the meeting proper.

Pausing for a moment outside of view she brushed the dust from above off of her outfit and stepped up to the table. Nothing fancy- a grey blouse made of soft cotton material that clung to her and gathered just below her waist line, black skinny slacks and a pair of simple black flats. Her hair was pulled away from her face in a loose bun and silver jewelry provided a simple accent.

Approaching she dipped a low bow to Asa and dropped her head to the others as suited their respective stations. Turning to Conner she dipped a low bow that while not near as deep as the one she afforded the Prince, was deeper than warranted for his status versus hers.

"I apologize most profusely for my late arrival and interruption and I will keep it brief. Would you still be willing to have my presence?"

Asa watched the proceedings calmly, quietly, eyes focusing on Ricardo for a moment longer than the others, then turning to listen to Ariana.

At Twist's entrance he almost smiled, but simply nodded; just shy of a bow, but a genuine mark of respect for the Judex. He'd never once thought that there was a gathering in her theatre without her presence, but Daeva were as Daeva did, and it wouldn't surprise him one whit if she'd been caught up in a bit of choreography or something else.

He kept silent, turning to see the Meister's ( Conner Greyson ) response.

[Alice Brown]

In silence but with great, though hidden, excitement Alice listens as the conversation takes a more interesting turn. Although she never had the hope that Asa would inform them, the Daeva is curious to how the Prince would prefer to end another Kindred's requiem, either temporary or final.

When Conner moves to a next subject Alice only nods in agreement. The first to recommendations seemed obvious. The mentioning of Knights cannot particularly care Alice. Whatever the title is you give to Kindred, the idea of training, protecting and fighting remains the same. Perhaps she's just not Invictus enough to understand.

Alice bows her head to the Judex as she enters, then her moment of silence is over. 'I agree that one does not have to be a member of the guild to be trained, but one could be. There could be a difference between Students and Mentors within the Guild, if we wish to refer to those terms?' Her opinion directly flows over into a question. Some 'apprentices' that deserve more respect could become a student to the Guild of Combat Arts.

'Either when one is expected to be an experienced Kindred regarding to the arts of combat, or when one could also join as a student, another question remains.' She explains it this way since her previous question is still a matter of discussion. 'It is known that those who want to join should petition to the Meister, but how does one prove the have reached the right level of expertise? There could be a last test of skill, although good words of an expert guild member might as well suffice?' It is all about how much influence the Meister wants to give the members.
