Ash Run: The Hunt of Peter Milford

The weight of the kevlar vest on his shoulders seemed to be growing more and more familiar as time stretched on. Not that he made a habit of wearing it regularly, just when he knew he was walking into a dangerous situation. Unfortunately that seemed to happen more than he'd have liked. But such was life as a Changeling.

The vest wasn't the only precaution he'd taken. His pistol was sheathed at the small of his back, beneath a hooded sweatshirt. And he could feel the weight of the bowie knife in its ankle sheath. And his body still sang with electric glamour. Tonight was the Ash Run, a time to hunt, a time of endings. You had to be careful to make sure one of those endings wasn't your own.

For now, he waited at the specified location. It wasn't too far from Owen's old house, from the mirror that would bring them to the Bogeyman's abode. Once the rest of those who wished to participate showed up...then the Leaden Mirror's most grim, terrible, and necessary tradition would commence.

The King of Wrath is the first to Arrive, besides the King of Nightmares, and has his game face on. Dressed in heavy cargo pants and boots, he carries his guitar case in his off hand and looks as happy as a man who had been chewing glass. Spartan says nothing, just finds place and leans. He waits for the others to arrive, not yet taking his weapons out of his case, remembering something that seemed like it happened a near millenia ago. Spartan almost smiled. This time, he would wait until they were in the hedge. Hard headed... Yes, but he remembers...

Ion arrived wearing a black, red, and white Sleeping with Sirens band t-shirt that had a heart, a tree, and a lightning bolt for the tree's shadow. She wore black volcom board shorts and Asics running shoes that were black, red, and white, matching the shirt. She seemed fairly casual compared to the others, yet she was dressed for freedom of movement and speed.

Ion smirked as she looked between the King of Wrath and the King of Nightmares, giving them both respectful nods. She felt ready for whatever may come.

Rook walked towards the two Kings, his steel gaze hidden behind the mirrored sunglasses he habitually wore. The Metalflesh's eyes moved over the small gathering, assessing them. He'd be keeping on eye on Ion. Someone so reckless could be a risk to their own side, and the last thing he intended to do was watch as someone got themselves and their team mates killed.

"Hello King Spartan, King Rick," the Elemental said, with an amicable inclination of the head.

It worried him, a little, that he didn't feel detached here. In his mind, the Board was taking shape, and emotions such as grief meant nothing.

Danny took a while to find the place, because he wasn't that familiar with Sacramento yet, and he didn't know the history. That did little for his nerves, which were decidedly twanging. Any incursion into the Hedge was ripe with fascination, and the lure of returning to the place he had once been held. The lure of completing his story, and taking his place next to the Queen he had betrayed. He ran his tongue across his short fangs and fed glamour into his breastplate, the delicate leather working tightening and becoming rigid across his chest. The silvery embossing glistened like spider-thread in the sunrise. His long, multi-jointed fingers gripped his cane tightly.

"Hi, er... your Majesties?" Was that how you pluralised a King? Stupid nerves.

This would be the first time that Anya had had the opportunity to do anything like this, and she fully intended to help not hinder. She strode toward the others as they assembled, and the Draconic offered a calm nodded to each in greeting. "King Spartan, King Rick," Anya spoke their names with simple politeness. "Rook, Mr. Tongs, Ion."

At her sides, Anya's fingers flexed and curled for a few seconds, before the tension was released again. The Draconic was prepared- she would not have been there had she been unprepared.

Stripes came sauntering up, a spark of wildfire in his eyes. He'd heard plenty about the Ash Run though hadn't had a chance to join in one himself, and though a semblance of childish innocence had survived his durance it went without saying that kids could be mean. He polished the claws of his mien as he arrived at the meeting point.

"Wow, thought I'd be the first one here." Stripes said aloud upon seeing the other changelings gathered.

Recognizing the rulers of Summer and Autumn Stripes was quick to bow respectfully to them.

"Your majesties, hope I didn't miss the start of the Ash Run," Stripes said, flashing a grin of his fangs.

Diane Pie approached the meeting place a little nervously. She didn't usually interact with the rest of the freehold, but with all the weirdness that had been happening in the city lately she had been meaning to take a more active role. The Ash Run sounded like some kind of hunt or fight, a chance to prove her worth, so she made sure to keep a pair of knives from her shop in her jacket's inner pockets.

When she saw the kings of Summer and Autumn, she gave a small curtsey and smiled as best as her sharp teeth would allow. "Your graces," she spoke cheerfully, "Room for one more?"

Rick shrugs at Stripes's first comment. "I've always had a habit of showing up to places early. And you haven't missed anything, been giving people time to arrive." Diane's question nets a small, tight smile from him, "Something like this? There's always room for one more." Because you just might need all the help you could get.

Tally arrives at a slow pace, she isn't sure what to make of this Ash Run but she does want to be a part of it as she had visited the guy's old Hollow. I really want to see the Changeling that could think up flesh and bone furniture. A glimpse will do. The Hunterheart thinks to herself while pausing to take in the number of Changelings who showed up. It didn't surprise her to see the two Kings here, although it causes her to wonder if either of the Queens will arrive to take part.

Tally is wearing a black t-shit with an image of a wolf with different phases of the moon above it and a pair of blue jeans. She's wearing runners, all she has in her pocket is her wallet. She didn't want anything hampering her movements and it's not like she needs weapons either. She notices the tiger themed beast, she never did get introduced to him.

With a slight shake, she approaches the twin kings. "Your majesties." She bows down to her waist before moving to stand a bit further into the event. Tally does her best to keep her swelling of energy under control, but something about all of this just calls to her. She just swallows and tries to pay attention to what is said as they wait for more people to show.
