(OPEN)(PATROL) Banking on blood.

Rafe pulled up across from the bloodbank in his Dodge Durango, 2003 model. Scoping out the place was a good first step into this world of, whatever the hell that thing was. It didnt turn to ash though, so definitely not a vampire. Although I wasn't using silver bullets like Blade was, so maybe i should get some.

Rafe got out of the car, the cool evening air calming his nerves. He thought about taking his gun, but if the cops found him snooping around a bloodbank with a gun that would be awkward. He zipped up his jacket, and locked up the car. He then began walking around the bloodbank, familiarizing himself with the area and entrances to the bloodbank, alleys around it, that sort of thing.

How crazy is this. I'm walking around a bloodbank hoping to spot vampire glyphs on the walls, or something. What do they do on those investigator shows when they want to find out something, they always get such good ideas.

Int + investigation

Rafe suddenly had a bright idea. He went back to the car, and got a pen and some paper out of the glovecompartment. He then started walking around the bloodbank again, this time taking down the licenseplates of all the cars one by one.

This is brilliant.. i can do this for a week and see which ones show up again. And then i can check which of the cars belong to people who live here, and which dont. That'll give me a place to start at least.. but ill need some way to check records at the DMV. I'll have to figure that one out soon...

Rafe's initial walk around the bank showed that business was slow and security seemed lax. There weren't many people walking around at all.

As he finished taking down license numbers; he did note that a few of them had decals for Rosemont Country Club.

Rafe looked at his notes again, and then moved back to all the cars with the decals, noting it next to each license place number. He scrawled the name "Rosemont Country Club" on the page, just to make sure he remembered it when he came home. He wondered a little if there was a wifi open nearby he could use, and remembered there was an open starbucks a couple of streets over.

I can always check that, its probably just someone having a party for their country club friends around here. He took note of the cars make and models.

Rafe bagan his walk back to the car, but as he looked around wondering exactly which of these apartments had someone living in it that belonged to a country club. It really didn't make much sense, but then again little did make sense to Rafe these days.

As he walked by the bloodbank he took note of the security again, looking for security camras and the likes.

Scoping out Security

As he got to his car he put the notes in the glovecompartment and took out his gloves. It was cold this evening, and he planned on keeping an eye on those cars tonight, see who got in them. He didn't really know what he'd do when he found out, but it was something to do. He'd been sitting at home getting jittery for too many nights, watching bad vampire movies and making notes. He still refused to watch that teen vampire/werewolf emotional porn crap movie he'd forgotten the name of, keeping it sort of a if all else fails.

Rafe glanced around the blood bank; but didn't see many apartments. It seemed to be a business park sort of place; where independent and franchise companies seemed to be doing well. The night around him was quiet; only one or two other cars passed his own on this quiet street.
He could run down the plate numbers and perhaps look up the country club the next time he got to a computer.

It seemed quiet around the bloodbank, so Rafe got in his car again and started it up. He drove the couple streets down to the starbucks, and parked nearby. He grabbed the bag containing his laptop and headed inside, ordering a grande as he walked by the counter. He headed to the back of the store, and opened his laptop, connecting it to the wifi. First the country club he mused, opening google and looking for the place, though not by name simply by searching for countryclubs in the Sacramento area. He needed to see if there was anything that made this one special, when compared to the others.

As the man at the counter called out his name, he got up and collected his coffee, paying for it in the process. Returning to his seat he glanced around at the people in the starbucks in a bored manner, simply to see how many were in there tonight. He took his seat, and started going through the country clubs, not expecting there to be many. It was boring work, but it was better than watching an empty street all night. The license plate numbers were burning a hole in his pocket, but he wasn't ready to start breaking the law until he had some evidence something was actually going on. He took another sip of coffee, and began reading.

There were three or so country clubs in the area. He found out that the country club whose decal he'd seen, Rosemont Country Club, had been in business about forty years and was considered, according to the reviews, to be a fantastic, if exclusive club. There were a few scathing reviews about 'impossible standards' being a reason for applications being rejected.

As he glanced around; he noted about half a dozen patrons. One pair; sipping coffees and murmuring quietly. The others were solo; checking computers or devices as they enjoyed their refreshment.

He checked the clock and realized he'd spent an hour looking around and found that the three clubs seemed to resemble each other greatlu; except for the bitter comments about rejection at Rosemont Country Club.

Rafe finished his coffee and packed up the laptop. It was getting late, and there was a day again tomorrow. He got in his car, returned the laptop to its place under the passenger seat, and began driving home. Another evening well spent he thought to himself, but even his internal voice had a note of sarcasm.
