Twist watched as blood slowly dripped from her wrist and into the slack mouth of Kalos. His neck convulsed as his body automatically did what was required to get more of her Vitae into his system. Aside from that, he lay still on her bed. If it weren’t for the motions of his throat and the oh-so-faint rise and fall of his chest he would easily be passed by as dead. Twist wasn’t sure how much vitae he would need to come back to her, goddess knew how much it had taken her. But she was willing to use her entire herd and go to hunting in the rack or elsewhere for the next year if that is what it took.

She missed him.

And it wasn’t just in the theater that she missed him. Although she did terribly there- he was so much better at managing the place than she was. That was why she had ghouled him in the first place after all. So she could focus on the creativity and the show aspect of the theater, while he dealt with the books, management and other such issues. And he did such a good job. Her stand-in manager was doing well but he simply wasn’t Kalos. He didn’t have Kalos’s smooth words or looks. He didn’t have the staff’s unwavering loyalty. She needed Kalos back in his office.

But she also missed him, just him. She missed his steady gaze. His easy smile that was so rare. She missed his calm attitude. The way he looked at her- not like a lust filled man (which she had no problem with mind you) but that he looked at her with understanding and acceptance. The way he loved her without having to do or say anything. Kalos was her friend. And friends were rare in her world.

She watched another drop slowly fall to the influence of gravity.

He would come back to her eventually. He wouldn’t dare leave her. And she was patient. He would come back.

Another drop.
