The sound of traffic buzzed in her left ear as Dirge made her way down the side walk, but it wasn’t loud enough to drown out the sound of her grinding teeth. While some things were looking up for her, the haunt just couldn’t help but feel the irritation at her upcoming match with the evasive shadow. The fact that she had to fight several more bouts than him while Conner got a free ride to the final match got under her skin more than she thought it would. She had always thought the Prince was relatively fair in the past, but perhaps it was just an oversight.

The blind woman’s cane rapped noisily in irritation on the concrete of the city sidewalk as Cerberus’ ears lay down warily having picked up on his master’s foul mood. The fact that this homeless problem still was not resolved and that her father was still out there a risk to her and every kindred in the city did not sit well with her either.

As she stewed silently to herself, she finally heard it, the irritatingly loud laugh and conversation of a man talking on a cell phone. As she walked by him she struck him firmly with her cane on the back of his knee causing him to fall to his knees. She carried on down the path as if nothing had happened.

“OW! WHAT THE FUCK?!” the man shouted from behind her.

“I’ll have to call you back man,” he said into his phone before putting it away and turning to the woman. She heard the sound of footsteps behind her and wasn’t able to hide her feral grin.

“Hey bitch, what the fuck is your problem?”

The man was met by only silence which Dirge could tell irritated him even further.

“Hey Ray Charles I’m talking to you!”

Finally the blind woman raised an arm slowly so her hand was visible over her shoulder and slowly extended her middle finger before turning into an alley.

“Oh, you did not just fucking do that! You’re dead bitch!” the man said furiously as she quickly followed her into the alley.

Dirge stood waiting for the man to catch up with her. Finally her night was looking up. She found it quite hard to believe how difficult it was to pick a fight around this city. In fact, at victim number three she was beginning to thing all the men in this city were ball-less twits.

“No where for you to go now,” the man said with angry confidence.

Just a few more steps…

Suddenly Dirge spun around and with several well placed strikes with her cane left the man gasping for air and utterly shocked at the way things developed. His shock turned to fear as he caught sight of the look on the blind woman’s face. The Cheshire cat grin that split her lips spoke of an unspeakable hunger as she quickly reached out and grabbed her little mouse before sinking her fangs into his neck.

“Wha the…” he began with fearful confusion before he was lost in the sensation of the kiss as the predator gripped him in her vice like hands.

After several long moments he slumped forward and fell flat on his face. She reached down feeling his pockets and pulled his cellphone then snapped it in half before dropping the now useless device to the ground. Then shrugging to herself she reached into his back pocket and pulled out his wallet pulling out the cash and tossing it to the ground beside him.

She made her way back out to the sidewalk a small smile on her face and her mood significantly increased.

“Thank you for your donation,” she said quietly under her breath as she departed.
