In the middle of Sacramento, there is a park that seemed to be undiscovered by many of the Changelings in the Freehold. Fairytale Town Park seemed to be cleverly hidden, but why? It had been up until recently, as if a veil had been lifted for this small and odd park.
It was as it would be expected; Old Woman and the Shoe themed, mother goose, and countless other little displays that served as children’s playground equipment and fun. They were not ‘rides’ like a carnival, but stationary and solid. Since 50F wasn’t a preferred temperature for most California’s, the park had been relatively quiet. Signs were posted of normal hours, but typically it was open through all days of the week. Like a mini wonderland for children.
Even more strange, that it was in the news. Some strange noises were coming from the park by the passersby and even some children who ventured out into the chillier days. The neighborhood didn’t even walk their dogs nearby or walk through the park. There were bits and pieces of these reports on Facebook, Google News and a few small notes in the Sacramento Bee. No one could report what the noise was at all though, they couldn’t describe it.
So on this January afternoon, the park again was vacant. A few folks were on the sidewalk that went around the entire park, a few of them walking their dogs here and there.
