Twist smiled up at her companion, A sentiment I fully agree with," her voice full of warm agreement. "I do appreciate that..." she began to say in response to his offer for fire when the next wave of chaos broke.
Ahead a scream and a panicked rush for the doors as the Kine finally did what she had already told them to do. But that was all she had time to note before a lunging shape flashed at her side only to be blocked by Charles.
Her eyes narrowed as she caught the glitter of metal in Melanie's hand. Tightening her grip on the painting, her own matching shine of metal appeared in Twist's other hand and with a quick series of small steps she moved in to strike.
She didn't care why Melanie wanted the painting. She only knew that at this point she, Twist, was going to be leaving the building with it. There were insults to be addressed.
Melanie's defense is at -1 and Twist's strike has Armor Piercing 1

Melanie takes the hit by hissing through her clenched teeth. The sap gloves add power to the punch as Melanie swings on Twist. She moves like someone who is skilled with brawling, but this punch doesn’t pack as much power as she wishes.
As she does so, the movement lifts her tight shirt, revealing a black holster at her appendix area.

Edward is right near Mable unlocking the door. She still has Rosario. She feels so bad for him but she has her orders. She hears panic and guns. Mable is torn, her beast screams to fight. She wants to help. Visions of what Melanie sees come to her. Each time she is temporarily blinded to what she herself sees. But she was entrusted to protect Rosario and get him to safety. Now was her chance to prove to Twist she could follow orders.
Once the door is opened Mable pulls Rosario through it.
To Edward, "Are you coming with us or going back in?" she gives him a silent plea to come help her. he visions keep coming making her dizzy with the effort to remain seeing two things at once.

"Ms. Torsione has instructed that we escape." Orders were orders.
Something was wrong. There was a strain to Mable that Edward had not seen before. How to lighten the load?
"Why don't I drive Mr. Small to where we convened earlier? Once we arrive, Mr. Small. We shall call Ms. Simone and inform her of the events which have transpired this night. Will you follow us, Ms. Wood?"

John – the blonde ghoul – draws his firearm in one smooth, practiced motion. It’s clear that he’s done this before. He levels the gun at Melanie using an isosceles stance. He pulls the trigger once – calm and professional.
The man knows what he’s doing. The shot is loud in the hallway of this building and a bullet hole appears in Melanie’s side.
Charles – the one with dark hair – already had his firearm out.
“We’re not letting you near that painting.” Charles informs Melanie. “You’re not supposed to be here.”
The man steadies his shot and fires on Melanie.
Melanie makes a startled cry as another bullet pierces her, hitting her high in the left arm.
If Mable, Edward and Rosario Small move outside of the building, they exit this scene and move to this thread…

Dirt Nap allows himself to growl, menacingly in his wild, coyote form despite his full knowledge that Twist can more than handle herself, and the ghouls seem to be backing her up, so far. It would be unnecessary and foolish of him to grow claws and advertise his unnatural nature to try to help out. Still, he's also well aware that just because someone is shootin' at your enemy and smilin' at you doesn't mean they won't shoot you in the back as soon as your enemy's down, if they happen to want somethin' you have.
Dirt Nap growls menacingly, and watches closely prepared to reflexively grow Claws of the Wild and wade into the ghouls if they turn their guns on Twist when she appears vulnerable in order to try to get the painting from her. It occurs to him that Twist and therefore he wants the painting as evidence, while the ghouls seem to have been sent to destroy it pretty much at all costs.

A tap. A tap without the kiss of metal.
That was a surprise. She had seen the glint and assumed a blade. Well, it was a surprise but not a large enough one to distract her. Nor were the double blasts of sound from the guns of her new "friends".
But she saw the holster. And while gun shots could be explained as panicked reactions to the rats and ... a coyote? What in the goddess?
No time. It wasn't attacking her and Melanie was. This needed to be ended and if Melanie wanted to exchange brawling blows, well, she could do that too. The knife was already in a reverse hold, making it no difficulty to punch with.
Twist strikes 4 times for a total of 21 successes with Whirlwind Strike Kung Fu
Twist has no defense this round as a result of using this attack.
