Haunted Corn Maze Take 2!

[Seraphina]

Smirking with a light laugh, “Well that is a fun idea, I have to confess that it’s wrong. He has no issues telling me no, which I think is a great thing. Because lets face it, it would be bad for me to always get my way.” She knew that and accepted it. “But nothing wrong with pouting and seeing where it gets me!”

A kind smile, “Well, you’re amazing with him and he’s very lucky to have you!” Sonnie was great with Fugly. You could tell he was loved and very well cared for.

Laughing, “Well, I don’t think you should expect it this year. Maybe I’ll aim for next year, give myself plenty of time to not only come up with a great idea, but talk him into it.” Maybe. She wouldn’t push too much though.

A truly happy smile appeared as she saw and listened to the excitement from Sonnie. Seeing how excited she was lifted her heart. These moments were what she lived for, seeing happiness in others.

Laughing, “Of course we are! One does not simply only do one bounce house! I think there’s even a law against it!” def not, but it sounded good. “So did you want to do those first or find something full of sugar to eat?” she asks, pocketing her keys, “I personally think a little sugar fuel is always a good thing.” Her two cents.

"Atta girl!" The Beast cheered her friend on, "Never give up! Never surrender! Never stop pouting!"

Sonnie blushed at the compliment and waved it off. Fugly seemed to agree, as he yapped at Sera as they all moved towards the corn maze.

"I guess we'll see how it goes," she shrugged.

"Ah, yes," she nodded sagely, "The Bouncy House Act of 1987. A grand piece of legislation. It's a federal law, too, not just a state thing." The Steepscrambler chewed on her bottom lip, trying to decide between food and fun, but Sera's suggestion seemed to make the choice already. "Pour some sugar on me!"

[Seraphina]

There was laughter as she held her arms up over her head, “I will never give up!” she declared, laughing still.

A single nod to Fugly, “Darn right Fugly!” she had no clue what the yap meant, but it was fun to play along.

“That is the one.” She agrees. “But I wasn’t aware they made it a federal law, we better make sure we abide by it then.” Very important. Giggling, “Ok, lets see what they have this year!” and begins walking around the vendors. The air filled the various scents everything from the smell of corn stalk to warm cider and different pies! “Oh!” she cries pointing to a vendor, “Do you like candy apples? They seem to have a whole variety of them!” and she was right, the decorations on the apples varied from traditional to very seasonal. “Or something a bit easier to eat?” candy apples took a bit more work in her opinion, but were good. “Those are adorable!” pointing to some rice krispy treats that looked like pumpkins.

Cider?

Pies?

Candy apples?

Rice Krispy Treats?

Which would the Beast choose? Indecision was plastered across her face as her eyes darted from one delicious delicacy to another. Finally, her expression calmed as she made her decision.

"Yes."

Never let it be said that gluttony was underrepresented in this Spring Court.

[Seraphina]

The Nix laughs, watching the poor Monkey struggle to make a choice.

“That can work.” A nod, “But if we eat them all now, I fear we might be on the way to a sugar coma and be unable to enjoy the bounce houses.” She points out, “I’m not opposed to eating all of them mind you, because I cannot pick just one either. But I say we go with the one with the most sugar now, do the bounce houses, then get the rest after!” sounded good to her. “And there is no reason we can’t get some to go either, that way we have something to eat on the way home later.” Because last year she bought a bunch of treats out just for Sonnie and Fugly. “Buuuut,” she draws out, “there is something to be said to evening the playing field of the race bounce house if you were slowed down by too many sweets.” She teases with a wink.

Sonnie made a deep and abiding sigh as she looked down at the adoring pup. "I fear that sacrifices must be made for the sake of bouncy house fun times, Fugs. We... we may have to wait before eating all the delicious things."

Truly, patience was a difficult and costly virtue.

"Very well!" The Monkey stated dramatically, "We shall partake of the rice krispy treats, for they are light and air-filled, and therefore will make us bounce higher! This is science!" A firm and knowing nod. "The other yummies will wait until... after." It was a painful thing to say.

Turning her eyes to the majestic unicorn that was Seraphina, the Beast nodded once more. "Let's do this thang!"

[Seraphina]

Hiding, ish, a smirk behind a translucent hand, she watches.

A nod, “Then rice krispy treats it shall be! And that is science I can get behind and support.” Heading over to the stand and purchasing some of the adorable treats. Handing one over to Sonnie, she takes a bite out of hers, “Oh, these are good! Wonder if they’re hard to make?” they didn’t seem like they’d be too difficult.

Eating more as she walked toward the bounce houses, “Wanna race first? Get the blood going?” she asks, and after her treat was done, she pulls a hair tie from her pocket. It takes her a few moments, because Sera had a lot of hair, but she finally gets it up in a pony tail. “Guess it’s a good thing I wore socks today.” Glancing down at her boots, then at the race bouncy house. She then makes a show out of stretching her arms and legs, knowing she wasn’t going to beat the nimble monkey, but still having fun. “How about the loser has to walk in the front in the haunted corn maze?” knowing it would be her, but ok with it.

The treat Sonnie receives goes straight into her mouth. When Sera asks a question, she pulls it out to answer. "Naw. It's just cereal, butter and marshmallows. I could make 'em. I tried once. Strangely, the marshmallows vanished before I could finish it."

The Disappearing Bag of Marshmallows. It was a mystery for the ages.

The rice krispy treat went back into the monkey maw, and this time was consumed.

"Race? To the bouncy house?" She looked between Sera and the plastic attraction, then shrugged.

"Okay, then.... onetwothreeGO!" And she was off like a shot.

"SOCKS... ARE... For... loooooserrrrssssssssss...." her taunt echoed back to the Nix.

[Seraphina]

Eyes widen at the sight of Sonnie pulling the rice krisy pumpkin from her mouth before she laughs. Regaining her composure, “Oh, is that it? Maybe I could even make them! Think I might have to try, because there seems to be no risk of me burning down the house!” bonus! "But vanishing marshmallows could be a problem."

Blinking a few times, not sure what just happened, she laughed again and runs after the monkey. Not nearly as fast, because she was wearing boots and there were people to dodge. And lets face it, no way was the Nix ever going to outrun the Beast. It just wasn’t possible. Unless Sonnie had a broken leg or two. Then maybe. But it was still a long shot.

Finally catching up, she places her hands on her hips, “Well, I was referring to the bounce house that has an obstacle course built into it. But that race was a fun one, point to you!” she can admit defeat. Sitting on a bench, she undoes her boots, which doesn’t take too long. “These are so much easier to get off than some of the other boots I have.” Then she giggles about something, cheeks flushing for a moment.

Standing, she pays the attendant, “Lets go girl!” and dives into the pumpkin, laughing the whole time.

Fugly was a quick puppers, and had little trouble keeping up with his mistress. Which was good, or else he might have been dragged along by his leash (not that Sonnie would do that to him, of course). Both Beast and beast were waiting for the Fairest when she caught up. "I encourage rice krispy treat baking. Go for it!" Also, the marshmallows were less likely to disappear if Sonnie wasn't present.

The Steepscrambler's boots were, in fact, her Hedgspun ones. She wore them almost all the time. "I got the same problem with these," she nodded, bending down to unbuckle the magical footwear.

"Sorry, Fugs," she apologized to her pooch. "No doggies in the bouncy house. I think they're worried about claws popping the thing. Or maybe poop. Anyway, don't worry! We'll take turns! Me or Sera will be with you at all times!" Which she proved as she waited for the Nix to have her turn in the inflatable structure.
