"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall", he says half-convinced, "I'm alright", he shrugs, "not much to do, to be fair"
"Things should go back to normal"
"Why," he posed the question with an affected British accent and Caine's signature cadence, "Do we fall?"
It's almost like this guy's seen a ton of movies or something. Soul tortured violent vigilantes? No, those would never go right to the front of the list.
"Speaking of high speed gyroscopic locomotion and atomized polymer pigments," the angel continued, "Anyone up for a game of Follow the Leader or Fox and Geese?"
That's right -- this one's got a bike, too. It's a sad little number, held together with speed tape and baling wire, and sans fairings. He's had his eyes on a little matte black Italian number, but it's not exactly low pro. Blame that one on Winter, running around in a Shelby that doesn't even have the decency to be debadged.
With a racing stripe.
That being said? With the announcement that the i8 was being discontinued...
"All I have experience with at least." He shrugs. "Interested in branching out though. I tried clay but I knocked my vase off the table. It was right out of the kiln too. Still mad."
And then the conversation switched to bikes which, Pixel had seen on a street before!
"I ride the bus but I always thought sports bikes looked pretty slick. What do you guys ride?"
One day the college student would have money, or just Matter a bike out of nothing. Which one was going to be quicker for an art major?
Shodan had very little knowledge, or interest in art, so he remains quiet about it. In truth, he would perhaps know more about the materials used in that art, than about what those materials were used to convey.
Bikes were more interesting, but the Libertine didn't have one to join the club, and asking to see them just like that would needlessly increase the awkward factor around. He has enough social nimbleness to at least not do that.
So he will stay quiet. For the moment.
I hope no one was waiting on me, but if you did - please don't. Shodan will speak if he's addressed/hears something he'd like to respond to, but he will hang back for now
Tyche remained where she was, somewhat near Winter, but not right next to the man. She did not know him, but he was a Guardian and that basic familiarity very welcome in a sea of strangers.
Still, she wasn't necessarily shunning the others, but their talks are moving to things she does not necessarily care for or bear much knowledge in. Thus, the Enchanter leans against the wall, her eyes glancing to the features of the Circle.
Tyche will respond if engaged, but she is not currently conversing.
"A moving advertisement. Though I suppose that's only good when you're staying still. But going for a long ride is always fun." Phoenyx replies to Briar Rose with a small smile. "Kawasaki Ninja. The red one out front."
Star was full of surprises. The Arrow cocks her head slightly, the smile still tugging at her lips. "You ride too?"
"A pity. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."
He felt better in this small moment of small talk. It gave him time to refresh himself before plunging into the backbiting waters that was realpolitik, surrounded by the Wise, the Obsessed, and the Restless.
Which one was he?
He took his adage as an opportunity to separate himself from the conversation. He made his way to retreat to the Atheneum with a small smile at the Mastigos, and acknowledging eyes at Campanella.
Not gone, just giving myself a way out. Will return once I'm stateside.
Briar Rose, nods, a smile blossoming as she rises her fist to bump it to the arrow. Really she should have expected the women to have the wonderfully freeing method of locomotion. Then, she nods, fist of bumping raised towards Star as he announces his superior choices.
"Sweet. Yeah. I'd love to get all, vroom." a smirk, eyes sparkling.
Campanella raises his eyebrows and follows Abacus with his gaze.
The conversation was turning firmly to bikes. Interesting enough to note who expressed an interest in such a hobby. The Moros filed away the information for later.
"What of you, Tyche Do you have any interests? I see you admiring the Circle of Creation."
He dropped his words, wondering if the new Guardian would be interested. Perhaps the relaxed conversation would yield further results. And yes, part of his effort was driven by more than mere curiosity: Tyche was still very much an unknown element.
He would have thought that the Moros was being deliberately rude if he hadn't known him better. But again, the girl was far prettier than he was, and she certainly could be of much better company.
He leans with his back against the wall, plucks a cigarette from the pack and sticks it in his mouth. Now was a time for listening.
