Chambitas got his welding mask and switched out the glass for a number 14 lens. He clad himself in a plain white t-shirt, swimming trunks, and sandals. The Annular eclipse would only be a partial from Sacramento, but it'd be something. He also loaded up an ice chest of his own beer. More than he needed for himself, but he figured he'd throw a business card or two with each one he handed out to folks he met. A bag of simple personal supplies (sunscreen, towel, and so forth) and a small folding chair were handy. Chambitas was able to secure a spot that was shaded at the moment, but as the sun dipped towards evening would illuminate in time for the eclipse.

The summer crowds were making use of the river which was still mostly chilly icemelt from the mountains. Mostly boaters, fishermen, and sunbathers in addition to the year-round joggers and bikers on the trail. A few people dumb enough to try swimming in the fast moving current for a few minutes. This close to the college campus it was a predominantly younger crowd of early 20's folks like himself. Then there were the few like him who brought varying degrees of equipment to watch the eclipse, but many more looked like they either had no idea what was going to happen.

He set up a chair, sipped a beer, and started applying his sunscreen. A friendly group of college students with a similar notion set up a barbecue near him. Chambitas went to work doing what he was good at, making new friends, perfectly willing to trade beer for burgers. If there were anyone sensitive to magic nearby they might detect his First Impressions rote going to town.

Kiko headed into the Fillard Goldman Museum wearing what could be understood as a School Uniform. A white blouse with a small red tie, black just above the knee pleated skirt and white ankle socks with the seemingly traditional school shoes in many private schools or even those from abroad. Her hair was up in a simply ponytail with her glasses perched delicately on her small nose the young Mystagogue would toy with her handbag as she wondered who Dr. Tyria Primoria could be or even what the person looked like. So, as with any good curious person, Kiko slowly walked along the various exhibits taking everything in with childlike wonder in her eyes all while trying to not stand out like someone new, but being who she was that was definitely not the case.

This evening was something of a strange one for Doctor Powell. She stood outside the the studio of The Dance Corner, having rented out space for the Herald and herself to utilise for the evening. That in itself was not particularly odd- the fact that she would be dancing however, was.

The Haunt was... not the best when it came to expressing herself through dance mediums. The last time she had tried had been several decades ago, at a wedding, and the results had been painful. For her partner.

On account of who she would be partnered with that night, the good Doctor was going to ensure she wouldn't be stepping on toes. It would be easy enough for a Kindred to mend broken toes, but helping Martha to exercise her prosthetic leg would not go well if she ended up hobbling on both limbs...

Physio had been going well, and it was the undead Doctor's hope that committing her patient to an activity a little more energetic - particulary an activity that Martha already enjoyed, would help her to come along in leaps and bounds.

She leant against the wall of the studio, a small bag slung over her shoulder. Josephine was already dressed for the occasion, with a plain blue vest and loose-fitting, but appropriate black pants and trainers.

Center stage at Ballo Della Notte is a lush oak table. The table is large, heavy and round. Around the table is 6 chairs, each a matching chair for the table. Once for each of the invited members. On the floor behind Conner was a large matted area that, if called upon, could be used for martial demonstration.

Conner walked the proscenium edge rotating his left wrist, then his right wrist. Cheyenne stood on the floor next to the steps holding 5 sashes in her hand. Each the proper, and traditional, color of those invited. Two Red and Gold, Three Purple and Gold. Conner’s own was worn around his waist in indigo and silver.

Also hanging from Conner’s waste was a rapier in a black scabbard and a dagger to match.

Conner looked to the doors and waited for the invited to arrive.
Well...

He stormed away from the match with Clare and the Dragon. The turmoil seemed to bubble in his head, and there was no way to let it all out.

Well he could always write, not that the inspiration ever worked well when he was in such a state.

But now even as he walked down the street he could feel the heat from within him pulsing as he struggled to keep it under control. The light trickle of blood (from where she had managed to catch him in the face) had stopped. He wiped at his face with his shirt, removing as much of the blood that he could.

This is hard enough--* His thoughts were rudely interrupted by his phone (which he had managed to remember to grab from Clare’s clearing) ringing.

“What do you want?!” he asked into the phone, his voice dripping with acid. “No, I don’t have it done yet. And I really don’t care.... no, this isn’t another one of my spells, Leash.” He said his voice as hard as his eyes, an just as frosty.

He laughed in a breath at the woman on the other end of the line. “You know what, I think I need a break. I’m heading home...no, I’ll take the bus, or better yet, I’ll walk. I heard it’s supposed to rain, maybe that will help.” he pulled the phone away from his ear as the Editor decided to give him more than a piece of her mind.

“You know what? I don’t care, I’ll get to it when a Muse leaves my bedroom. I’m headed home now, Leash, I want a hot chocolate when I get there, and perhaps some of that weird bread that you brought over last time. Kay? Thanks. Bye.” he turned off the phone, and then as it began to ring again, popped open the back of it and pulled out the batteries.

I don’t need this right now.

This time the contest is one that I am exceptionally excited for, a Visual Arts contest. Sketch, painting, photoshop, video, etc, anything that is a visual medium. The only stipulation is that is has to be site related.

Examples or possibilities:
Photoshop your coterie into a picture together
Sketch a picture inspired by a mood
Draw up a Ling’s Mein, or a werewolf in Gauru

Remember that if you are doing a piece based on, or involving, another player's character you will need to check with that character’s player for permission.

Those interested in participating, please feel free to ask questions. Also, those of you that are interested, what sort of time frame would you be able to work with?

So lets get those creative juices flowing people!

Questions? Fire Away!

The one-story brick house is a little small, but nice. White rose bushes have been planted in the front in the last two months or so, and have been tended recently, as they are free of weeds. The backyard has a six foot wooden fence that was recently stained and treated. The grass has been mowed and the driveway is clean.

Glimpse: Saddle Up

“It’s you and me this time Souxsie.” the apprentice said as she carefully began to saddle the horse. Each motion she made, only just becoming regular to her, each touch of the horse’s flank as she prepared to ride the white beast.

At least they had managed to come to an agreement, and Souxsie did seem to prefer the Obrimos’ company over spending time in the paddock. “It’s been a little weird, you know, dealing with the academy and the art and things.” she whispered to the mare, almost like she was another person. “And then all the work he puts me through.” Vaeltia sighed, “I’m still not completely sure how I get everything done.”

She moved the saddle into place and belted it in place. “Okay, did I do it right this time?” she asked the horse.

Sousxie only returned her look, with completely innocent eyes.

“I know that look, you’re planning something aren’t you?” A snort was the only response. “The least you could do is at least give me a hint.” she complained. The mageling ran her hands over the tack, checking each link, even poking the mare in the belly to make sure she wasn’t hoarding air so the saddle would slide off.

Vaeltia had learned that trick the first time, being laughed at by an animal was only so amusing.

“I didn’t miss anything, Souxsie.” She said exasperated.

If Souxsie could have shrugged she probably would have. Vaeltia shook her head, Defeated by a horse. She let out a long sigh and lifted herself into the saddle.

“Well let’s go.” she said as she urged the horse onwards. Maybe city kids can learn.

Garth has been strolling through the territory, he keeps finding people he would love to get a taste of but they seem to be traveling in small groups and those on their own are talking on cell phones. Tonight he wasn't interested in feeding from drunks or stoners either. Unsurprisingly, those homeless have taken themselves into hiding when night came, he does wonder just how many of them know or suspect the wolves in sheep's clothing wandering the streets at night.

Well then, let's see if I can lure a meal off the well beaten path. He muses, ducking into an alley. He better get a meal, otherwise he'll have to sleep in his canine form.

Shaking his head, he glances around for a patch of something to dirty his coat in. He rolls in it, particularly rubbing his head in it. With a full body shake and a wrinkle nose in disgust, Garth the Akita trots through the back ways for a bit.

After an hour, he found a nice spot and moves to the front of the alley. Laying down, he waits for somebody to walk by, a single person, he didn't care if that person is male or female at this point, any soft-hearted person would do. With his Beast growling and snapping in the back of his mind, Garth watches as pairs of two to four people walk by.

Then, hearing somebody on a cell, he raises his head and wags his tail, eager to get this over and done with. As the person approaches, he whines and barks in a weak fashion. "What the? I'll phone you back, I think I found an injured stray."

A man in his late thirties, maybe early forties comes to stand before the alley. He manages to 'painfully' get up off the ground, he does his best to look mournful and yet hopeful up at the man. The man crouches and softly calls Garth to him. He slowly limps towards the man, but stays a bit out of reach.

Then comes the moment where he tries to get the man to come into the alleyway, sadly, the man seems to have drawn some kind of line at how much he'll do to attract Garth to him. After a good twenty minutes, the man has his phone in hand is calling the city's animal shelter workers. He slips away as the man talks to the operator on the other side of the conversation.

Ok, got to work on my acting skills, got it. He thinks to himself, he knows that dawn is about four hours away and so, he settles for finding a drunk or stoner and feed from them. He kind of wishes that he could ask somebody to help coach him on his wounded dog act as it seems like a good thought to lure those single walkers into places they wouldn't go into normally.

Maybe I should become a cat? I am rather large as a dog after all... He muses as he heads home once he has fed.
